Sounds Like
a toy boat secret in a tidepool hurricane...a 19 hour drive fueled by waffle house coffee...music
The Bio:
I moved to Seattle in 2001 where through a combination of unemployment, sleep deprivation, and coffee, I started writing music. Since, then, from time to time I have worked in Cameroon, Uganda, and Ghana. . .living in mud huts, running around the rainforest catching lizards, catching birds, getting drunk with village chiefs, arguing with well-armed policemen, eating things best not eaten. In 2007, I released best laid plans (gone wrong). In 2009, I received a Ph.D. in biology from UCLA.
Besides running around equatorial Africa, I've also spent a good bit of time as a field biologist in the U.S. I've caught and tracked bears in the swamps of western Florida, deer in Minnesota, and surveyed caribou on the North Slope of Alaska. I've had guns waved in my face, regular opportunities to politely decline invitations to come to Bible study, and played Lynyrd Skynyrd covers in dive bars in exchange for beer and crawfish.
Currently, I live in Los Angeles.
The Thank Yous:
Good friend and sound engineering genius Jason Merritt (check out the top 16 below) deserves much credit for enduring the overcaffeinated freakshow I became during marathon recording sessions. Lindsay Monroe, the CD cover artist/designer, did fantastic work. Check out what else she does at www.lindsaymonroe.com.
The Precious Merchandise:
The debut CD, best laid plans (gone wrong), is now available at cdbaby, iTunes, Napster, and lots of other online distributors.

Mr. Freedman... How the hell are you man? It's been a long time. I was just looking around the emails and found you. I'm playing tomorrow night at the Unknown Theater. If you aren't doing anything brother, come on out. It would be great to see you.
Much respect. chapa

word! moose and caribou have lived in Alaska with wolves for thousands of years. What the hell are they thinking? If she gave a shit about moose, maybe she should STOP HUNTING THEM.
Haha! That's a cool trick! Love me some Famous Blue Raincoat, so, any way to get in on that... I like your music too. I was listening to it last night. it gives me a familiar feeling...
I haven't seen much of Las Vegas aside from my apartment and the school so far, but as I explore a bit more I'll let you know if there are any good local places!
Hey - Well, Nevada certainly is a nicer climate than Louisiana (at least in my opinion!). Your music is awesome, by the way! I hope the dissertation is coming along well!
