.."The final mixes Adam delivered sounded almost mastered....pro-level work." --Earle Mankey, mastering and recording engineer (Beach Boys, Concrete Blonde, Sparks, David Gray, Cramps, etc.). "Watch out for this guy...he's scary." -- Don Randi, legendary session musician (Elvis Presley, Wrecking Crew, Monkees, Everly Brothers, Tim Buckley, etc.)..
"Recording my debut solo album with Adam Marsland far surpassed my expectations going in. He has the amazing ability to take your demos and then literally and single handedly making them album quality that equals, no, surpasses studios I have used that cost 6 times more. His vast knowledge, experience, musical intuition, and easy going personality sets the ideal tone for making your musical dreams come to life." -- Adam Exler (client)..
..Welcome to Adam Marsland's KARMA FROG STUDIO and recording service.......
$185 A DAY (eight hour block) includes recording, editing, and session musician services (keyboards/guitar/bass/drums/percussion/backing vocals)...
..First, have a listen to the mp3s on this page. They were all recorded here at Karma Frog, and I played most (if not all) of the instruments on the tracks. They're the best advertisement for the level of work I can do for your project...
Our most recent project, was 6-piece punk rock band THE KNITTS, who came here needing to get a great quality EP recorded at a low price. They left with four songs, mixed, for under $500.
Here's what I offer:..
Crisp and crystal clear recordings featuring REAL drums, present vocals, the best organic keyboard and guitar sounds, and sharp and vivid mixes. Recordings done the old school way: NOT programmed, but PLAYED. My pro-level services as a session player(in addition to engineering, mixing and, if desired, production), plus access to A-list session musicians and outside engineers if needed. All for less than $25/hour (when you purchase an 8-hour block of time...the standard hourly rate is $25)..
..How can you do this so cheap?....
KARMA FROG is not a studio per se...I operate out of a garage and a workstation in my bedroom. There are no big amenities, no rack of limiters or plush couches. I have the bare minimum I need to get the job done. And yet, as you can hear, the results rival studios that cost two or three times what I charge. I work out of my house and enjoy what I do. I only need to get paid for my time and effort, not for overhead or expensive outboard gear...
I've been playing music for 25 years and over that time I've learned how to do just about every aspect of music. As a musician and arranger, I've worked with three Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famers and a Tony Award Winner. As a songwriter and producer I've made 10 albums of my own and been mentored by people that really knew what they were doing. I can integrate all these skills together and get recordings done quickly and with a minimum of fuss and drama. (If you want to know more about my history and bio, just google "Adam Marsland")..
There are lots of little studios out there doing just what I do. The difference is in realizing that the outboard gear is not what's important. Just like in the old days, it's what you record that makes for a great record...the performance, the sounds, the arrangement. If all that is in place, the rest just gets in the way....it's about having the big picture. Not just being a producer, an engineer, a musician, or an arranger, but knowing all those skills and tying them together and making everything work in harmony. That's what I do. I only take on a limited number of clients because when I work with you on your project, it becomes my own. If I put my name on a record, I want it to be the best representation of your work that we can manage... I'm not interested in racking up huge studio bills, either. I want the project on time and on budget. Who wants to spend a year working on a record? ..
Have a listen, and shoot me an e-mail to discuss your project at cockeyedghost@gmail.com...

Welcome to Adam Marsland's KARMA FROG STUDIO and recording service.

$185 A DAY (eight hour block) includes recording, editing, and session musician services (keyboards/guitar/bass/drums/percussion/backing vocals).

First, have a listen to the mp3s on this page. They were all recorded here at Karma Frog, and I played most (if not all) of the instruments on the tracks. They're the best advertisement for the level of work I can do for your project. Our most recent project, Adam Exler's new CD THE WRITING'S ON THE WALL, was entirely recorded and mixed at Karma Frog. The entire 11-song album came in, mixed, at just over $5,000. As you can hear, we delivered a master-quality, radio ready album for less than half the price of a big studio.

Here's what I offer:

Crisp and crystal clear recordings featuring REAL drums, present vocals, the best organic keyboard and guitar sounds, and sharp and vivid mixes. Recordings done the old school way: NOT programmed, but PLAYED. My pro-level services as a session player(in addition to engineering, mixing and, if desired, production), plus access to A-list session musicians and outside engineers if needed. All for less than $25/hour (when you purchase an 8-hour block of time...the standard hourly rate is $25)

How can you do this so cheap?

KARMA FROG is not a studio per se...I operate out of a garage and a workstation in my bedroom. There are no big amenities, no rack of limiters or plush couches. I have the bare minimum I need to get the job done. And yet, as you can hear, the results rival studios that cost two or three times what I charge. I work out of my house and enjoy what I do. I only need to get paid for my time and effort, not for overhead or expensive outboard gear.

(If you want to know more about my history and bio, just google "Adam Marsland")

I'm not interested in racking up huge studio bills, either. I want the project on time and on budget. Who wants to spend a year working on a record?
