I'm influenced by artists who are honest and gifted in their writing. Some of my favorites are the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Dave Matthews Band, Radiohead, U2, Ben Folds, Coldplay, David Gray, Damien Rice, and Dashboard Confessional. These bands are all from sort of a similar genre but I also love punk, alternative, classic rock, SKA, reggae, classical, old jazz, really old blues, and really anything that is creative and meaningful.
Currently albums that I'm absolutely loving are Snow Patrol - Final Straw, Robbie Seay Band - Better Days, Sufjan Stevens - Come on and Feel the Illinoise, Postal Service - Give Up, and Copeland - In Motion.

Songs are a medium that I use to express my deepest emotions. This means my songs usually are about the intense feelings that happen in human relationships and about the deep emotions of my relationship with God. I started writing when I was 15 and have turned to music to describe the indescribable.
My other loves include crowd surfing at punk shows, swimming at my families place on a lake near Augusta, Maine, long meaningful conversations with friends, road tripping, the mountains and air in Scotland, and more than anything God.
The biggest shows I've played have been opening for Ari Hest at the University of Dallas in May 2003 and again at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, September 11th 2004 after he was signed by Columbia and a few days before he played on Last Call with Carson Daly. My favorite shows however have been in peoples living rooms, where there are candles lit and people just hanging out, lying down on floors and chilling on beat up sofas. Life has not allowed me to play many shows as of late but I am always open to the opportunity.
Enjoy the songs and definitely download "Love Me"(from http://www.purevolume.com/adamstewart). That song more than any other means something to me. I wrote it when I was in London in this echoey hallway praying, and asking God would he would say to the world. The whole song came to me then. Thanks for reading this unorthodox bio and all of the best.
