Hatched from the gallows of industry; Thunder Bay, On, Adaptive Reaction is an electronic based raw and sonic blender of
old school electro beats, static and crashing ride glitchery, roaring analogue, and sear vocals.
Their live show is in the good old fashioned spirit of stand and deliver! Programmer Myke Guerin gives you steady strike
with his punk rock guitar sound. Performance Artist Mila on synth gives you boomy buzzy bass lines, dance moves inspired by
Istvan Kantor's Machine Sex Action Group, and bellowing throaty vocals which complement Myke's searing screams.
This project has been in the works since 1996 (and live since 2005), but has only recently been translated into a live act
that conveys the immediacy, power, and fury of the songs written and produced by Adaptive Reaction.
Surrealist appropriated imagery explains the concept of their albums; alienation of the human spirits at the hands of technology.
Adaptive Reaction gives you high energy, existentialist scope, all this and a beat you can dance to.
Interesting. After about 14 years on Cubase myself I am still learning new things about it. I have also frozen the version I use, SX 2, which I have mastered. Incidentally, i find it to be the quickest one. The new ones are too slow and sluggish.
Sorry I missed you in TBay. I've been busy fighting Swine Flu and Pneumonia. It sucks to say the least. I hope the LSD show goes good but I'm sure the IGBC set will be a shit show as usual. I may even be solo again. I thought it would be great to just do a 20 min song while talking nonsense into a mic. I just picked up the Einsturzende Neubauten - Liebeslieder DVD and it's giving me strange ideas. Before I opened that I watched Pigface - Glitch. I also bought a small drum kit. I'm sure I'll see you next time you're in town.
Great to see you too in Thunder Bay - I really loved your set !!! Tuxedomoon rules!
I'm not quite sure yet when my next tour that will include Toronto is - I'll start figuring it out when I get home. I'll be back for sure - let me know when you are heading west - maybe we can do a show together.
Hey AR. Thanks for accepting our friend request. I heard you were in Edmonton last night. I'm pretty bummed I missed you and Promonium Jester. That would have been a wicked show. I hope I'll catch you next time you're through.
Thanks for the show with TERRATOMB at Club 1668, and the merch. Well play something for ya on 'Mutants on Parade', listen to it on 88.1 FM in Halifax, or ckdu.ca. Airs Fridays at 10:30 PM Atlantic Time. Cheers.
