   About A.S.A.P.
THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL BAND SPACE. THIS PURELY A FAN SPACE. This is a fan page purely created to allow people to hear this relatively unknown band.

This is the project of one Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden fame and is a culmination of his playing outside of the band during the 80s. It started when, after the very long and tiring World Slavery Tour (1984-85), Adrian and Nicko McBrain decided to create a jam band with Adrian on lead vocals to have some fun and relax after the long tour. They went under the name "The Entire Population of Hackney" and included some of Adrian's old bandmates from his pre-Maiden band, Urchin.

Anyway, later on, Adrian decided to put together this band, A.S.A.P. in 1989 with some of his old bandmates again from Urchin plus other friends he knew at the time. This again was with Adrian on vocals. They produced this one album, "Silver and Gold" and two singles "Silver and Gold" and "Down the Wire". They never performed live. In early 1990 Adrian split the band and left Iron Maiden (due to creative differences) and did not return to the music scene until 1992 when he formed The Untouchables and later his Psycho Motel project in 1995.

Here is the only music video produced. The song is "Silver and Gold";

This album is fantastic. Much much better than Psycho Motel. A lost gem. Great that you added a few b-sides too. Excellent stuff!

This is an awesome band too! I think H sounds alot like Bruce Springsteen when he sings. Any chance of getting mp3 copies of When She's Gone (awesome song!), Fighting Man and Blood Brothers please? I only have them on vinyl and I'd like to put them on my mp3 player.
