   Advanced Squad Leader's Blurbs
About me:
Does World War II fascinate you? Do you watch "Saving Private Ryan" and "Band of Brothers" and read books on World War II? Have you ever wondered what it might have been like to lead a "band of brothers" into combat in that war? To storm the beaches of Normandy? To experience a Japanese "banzai" charge? To lead armored spearheads across the steppes of Russia? There's an incredible strategy boardgame called Advanced Squad Leader (ASL) that allows you to do all of that and much, much more. It is not a video game or a "real time strategy" game but a board game that you can play with friends, brothers, and others. With ASL, you command one or more companies of infantry and armor, recreating actual historical situations from every theater and front of World War II. It is up to you to master the tactical situation, the plans and actions of your opponents, the elements, and sometimes fickle Fate herself to achieve victory on the battlefield. Advanced Squad Leader is the most popular board wargame today and offers the most immersive and challenging strategy gaming experience around. If you like the challenge of competition, the mysteries of history, and the smell of victory in the morning, then please take a look at the ASL system. Who knows? It might even be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Who I'd like to meet:
All people interested in military history, World War II, wargames, strategy games, Advanced Squad Leader, ASL, boardgames, and/or intellectual challenges.
