Official Rules
#1 Only Air Guitars allowed, playing any other instruments will result in disqualification.
#2 This is a two bracket (qualifying bracket and open bracket), single elimination tournament.
#3 Four qualified and eight open bracket competitors will compete for finalist positions in their respective brackets. The finalist of the two groups will compete for the title of “Air Master”.
#4 All matches will consist of one song per competitor. Highest average score wins the match and advances to next round, except the final match which is best out of three. The final match is a battle of strategy. The finalists are teamed up with one of the DJs and given time to form a game plan prior to the final match
#5 Scores are zero thru ten. Average score is calculated after dropping highest and lowest scores. Scores will be based on song difficulty, accuracy, artistic style, attire, and visual presentation.
#6 Songs during competition will be selected at random. A new song and a “Do-Over” may be called for in the event of an audio malfunction.
#7 Competitors failing to appear at the time of their match will be disqualified.
#8 Qualifying
Anyone attempting to take a qualifying position (four spots available) must:
a) Perform a song during the qualifying round that occurs during the 3 hours prior to competition.
b) Have one of the top four qualifying scores
c) Pay the $5 entry fee before the competitions starts
*note - if a competitor attempts to qualify, but does not have a top 4 score, they may enter in the open bracket
Qualifying songs may be brought from home or chosen from our list.
Qualifying is free and there is no limit (except time) on retries.
Anyone may attempt to qualify but are not required to enter the competition.
#9 To enter as a open bracket competitor (eight spots available) arrive at the venue between 8:00pm and 9:00pm (bar time), and pay the $5 entry fee. First come first serve.
#10 All decisions are final.
