Agnosie, n.f., du grec « Agnos » (ignorance) : Incapacité de reconnaître ce qui est perçu par les sens.

La formation d'AGNOSYS remonte à fin 2001. C'est à cette date que Julien (basse) et Maxime (chant) rejoignent le groupe de Fabrice (batterie), Cédric et Stéphane (guitares), qui prend alors le nom d'AMALEK. Les premières compositions, dans un style Death / Thrash, intègrent un maximum d'influences, et mélangent la plupart des styles de Metal, autour d'une base proche du Death Metal Suédois.
En 2002, AMALEK enregistre sa première démo (5 titres) : Inner Desolation. Enregistrée avec les moyens du bord, notamment en un temps très limité (à peine une journée d'enregistrement), elle permet déjà au groupe de diffuser sa musique, et reçoit des critiques satisfaisantes de la part de plusieurs webzines.
Fin 2003, AMALEK entame l'enregistrement d'une nouvelle démo, avec Andrew G. d'Hybreed Corp. En parallèle, le groupe change de nom, et devient AGNOSYS en février 2004.
Le MCD Equilibrium voit le jour en septembre 2004 et reçoit un accueil particulièrement enthousiaste de la presse ; il est notamment élu démo du mois dans METALLIAN. L'année 2005 voit Agnosys effectuer à la fois du live et un travail d'écriture en préparation d'un premier album. Fin 2005 Julien (basse) quitte le groupe, il est remplacé par Sylvain qui rejoint la formation fin janvier 2006. S'ensuit une période de remise à niveau au cours de laquelle Agnosys rôdera son nouveau line up. Mais coup du sort, début 2007 c'est Max (chant) qui quitte le groupe. Nico le remplace désormais à ce poste, et avec un nouveau talent en son sein, Agnosys est plus que jamais investi dans l'écriture de son premier album...

AGNOSYS was born in late 2001, when Julien (bass) and Maxime (vocals) joined what was left from a band previously formed by Fabrice (drums), Stephane and Cedric (guitars). At that time the name of the band is AMALEK. The first songs, in a Death / Thrash Metal style, integrate a lot of various influences, mixing most existing Metal styles, especially Swedish Death Metal.
In 2002, AMALEK record their first demo, Inner Desolation, including 4 original songs and a DISSECTION cover. Even though this work is done very fast (the recording only took one day), the feedback is pretty good.
In late 2003, AMALEK start recording a new demo in studio, working with Andrew from 7th Nemesis. In the same time, they change the name of the band, and become AGNOSYS in February 2004.
The MCD Equilibrium is released in september 2004, and receives numerous enthusiastic press reviews. In 2005 the band remains focused on writing new songs for their first album, and in the meantime demonstrates the power of Equilibrium on stage during two shows in Paris. Julien (basse) leaves the band by the end of the year, and Sylvain takes over the bass in Agnosys at the beginning of 2006. This year is a training for all the band to get comfortable with the new line up. But January 2007 sees another band member leaving: Max (vocals). Nico takes the job and with this new talent, Agnosys is more than ever focused on the writing of new material for their first album...
