A History Of delivers songs with an earnest conviction and urgency that separates them from a musical climate of irony and its trappings. Punk energy built on angular rhythms and dangerous overtones, their sound lands between DC punk, North East indie and Chicago math rock. A History Of released their debut Victory Atlas EP on Noyes Records in the spring of 2007 and will be releasing their first studio full-length album, Action in the North Atlantic, this November on both CD and 12" Vinyl.
A History Of features members of The Plan, Tomcat Combat and Gamma Gamma Rays. In their short history, they have completed three tours of Eastern Canada, secured spots with such diverse acts as Crystal Antlers and Jay Reatard, made a movie, and lost a bass player to a horrific accident. Their new album, Action in the North Atlantic, is an analog recording engineered by J. LaPointe (North of America) and features artwork by YoRodeo.
