About me:
Currently I reside on the East Coast of the US, on the beautiful shores of South Beach, Florida. I live in an ocean-front apartment where I spend most of my time and conduct the bulk of my research and work, but I have been known to wonder to near by restaurants and local coffee houses for a change of scenery. When I’m not working, I enjoy attending web conventions, demos, and events, although I must say that I can’t stand participating in workshops too much. Throughout my years of experience in the web industry, I’ve had the honor to be involved in a number of projects of all sizes and subsequently have worn a variety of ‘hats’, becoming a jack-of-all-trades within the web field. Having a diversified background has had its advantages, especially within the web industry, and has significantly contributed to the building blocks of who I am today.
I am now the author of aiAlex, which currently provides a centralized place for information on popular and interesting Web Culture topics. I am also involved in a personal and privately funded business venture, which will hopefully be making an impactful appearance soon. Between writing in the blog and attending to other personal web projects, I also work on and off as a Creative Designer/Director and Web 2.o Consultant, which I do on a freelance basis for a few and select panel of startups and established web companies. Regarding my freelance work, I always try to keep most of my business relations private and confidential. Traditionally this allows me to step in, assist in improving their businesses, and quietly step out without any attachments or commitments. It’s usually how I prefer to work, and have done so for the majority of my career.
I’ve always been particularly interested in the web and for the most part consider myself a Web 2.o advocate. This is mainly due to my passion for new emerging technology advancements in today’s web industry and it’s potential to bring everyone closer together. Although I must say that I also have an equal passion for the arts and design, which actually provides a quite satisfying balance of both worlds - the right hemisphere and the left. On a more personal note, I’m a vegetarian by choice, I love and quite often play my guitar to relax, I always enjoy a nice glass of wine, and absolutely can not work or write without some good music playing in the background, since music is a harmony I can not live without. I am also a strong believer in the philosophical concept of ‘causality’, also known as ’cause and effect’. I believe that everything is interconnected in our lives, and one thing will always lead to the other.
