ALBUM "PUT YOUR MONEY ON!" ON ITUNES , PURCHASE HERE Áine Duffy is a remarkable talent who has taken the Irish rock scene by storm since emerging from rural West Cork, a tranquil part of Ireland seemingly too quiet and peaceful to spawn a creature with such untamed passion and attitude.
Áine was immersed in music from an early age absorbing the earthy traditional sound in her small west cork town and getting a solid schooling in rock and folk thanks to family and legendary local musicians. She was playing live gigs by the time she had reached the tender age of fifteen, and went on to study music management and sound at Cork's Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa . Having recorded her first demo with Ciaran O'Shea of Cyclefly, she first travelled to Toronto where, showcasing her songs, she began to enjoy a considerable following. At home in Ireland, things were also hotting up, and young Áine Duffy returned as one of her tunes was hailed 'Song of the Fortnight' by Hot Press, Ireland's leading music magazine. Having won recording time in Dublin's Sun Studios she now found that her career was taking on a life of its own, and before she knew it she was in Los Angeles playing everywhere possible and building on her ever growing international fanbase. Áine was now playing with some of the most accomplished musicians on the US scene, and enjoying prestigious bookings and inspiring company.
Continuing her journey she played various gigs in mainland Europe being repeatedly invited to perform in a number of Spanish and Belgian venues as well as at home in Ireland, back in Canada and in the USA. Following an invitation to collaborate, from Roger Greenawalt (a giant among New York producers) Áine first went to New York. It was here that she really came into her own, building a strong following in the course of a few months and staging some of the most exciting live shows of her career.
Back in Ireland, Áine independently released her début album Put Your Money On to much critical acclaim, and began a series of radio and television appearances. It was on television that she caught the attention of Mattie Fox, one of the central figures of the Irish musical establishment. She is currently in New York for a number of eagerly awaited performances, although, never losing touch with her West Cork roots, she will be sharing the bill with the award winning Imelda May at a special concert at the atmospheric venue of Charles Fort, an abandoned British military installation. The Charles Fort Gig is part of Kinsale Arts Week, more details at https://www.secure-ssl-servers.info/kinsaleartsweek-com/programmeView.asp?eventID=2
Áine spent June performing in New York and will play various dates in the UK throughout the summer.

"energetic live performance, acrobatic and controlled vocals, irrepressible presence"

Áine is from west cork, if you haven't heard her live you really really should. She is a fine guitar player and has incredible stage presence with a fine talent for writing songs.

Last week's performance was amazing and left me and presumably everyone else in no doubt as to why she is wooing American audiences, she has a great strong voice, incredible stage presence, she's racey, she's passionate and fun (changed the lyrics in too drunk to fuck to describe a night in Freakscene......), she rocks and the Freakscene crowd loved her! We wish her all the best in America!
Now here's a girl with real sass! Áine Duffy is a unique and energetic singersongwriter
based in West Cork and New York. Her new album Put Your
Money On was described as announcing 'the arrival of a major talent on to
the music scene' following its launch in Cork's Pavilion this year. The Irish
Times called her, 'something of a maverick' while the Evening Echo continues
to be lavish in its praise, calling her 'a real find' and lauding her beautifully
different vocal ability, poetic lyrics and sultry good looks. With her
irrepressible stage presence, unique guitar style and intensely dynamic
vocals, she continues to push the boundaries.
Áine rocks, soars, emotes and challenges. She will put that shiver up your
spine if you give her half a chance! - Imokilly
