  • Bio

"You'll have to do a double take after your first glimpse of this pop/folk duo from Tucson, AZ. Twin sisters make-up the band "Mirror Image" that took the Battle of the Bands in Tucson by storm. With their self-proclaimed injection of "Girl Power" into the battle they surprised only themselves when they came out victorious. Your eyes might have trouble keeping up, but your ears will find themselves at home sweet home with this double dose of soulful vocals and swinging guitar." (John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, 2008) Andrea and Juliet Wilhelmi grew up in Roundup, Montana. Music has always been part of their lives. Piano was their first instrument, but after receiving guitars for Christmas at age 12, they never looked back. Writing songs seemed like the "natural thing to do". They began performing in local venues and they recorded their first demos in the basement of a friend and Nashville performer, Mike Morgan. In 2008 Mirror Image was be chosen as the winner of the Arizona Star Tucson Battle of the Bands. Part of their prize, was a day on the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus making a music video of their original song, "Miserable Thing." When the bus came to Tucson in 2009, Mirror Image shot a music video to their song, "Romeo". Their song "Dearest Stranger" was chosen as a finalist in the 2009 "Show Me the Music" songwriting contest. Their song, "The Red Knight" is a 2009 semi-finalist in the 100% Music Songwriting Contest, Anders, France. In March, 2011, their song "Smile for You" was a finalist in the Great American Song Contest and a semi-finalist in the Song of the Year contest. Their first CD, "Technicolor" is now available. In addition to originals, the duo's repertoire includes covers of The Beatles, Leonard Cohen, Norah Jones, Dean Martin, Neil Young, Elvis Presley, and others. Andrea and Juliet have been familiar faces around the Tucson music scene... Tucson Folk Festival, Downtown Saturday Night, First Night. Andrea and Juliet are now students at Macalester College. In addition to their studies they have begun exploring the St. Paul/ Minneapolis music scene.
