Akkolyte are a two piece(brotherly) grindcore/h.c. punk duo from Dull-ass, Tex-ass. Been around since mid 1998 starting as a solo project. Aaron entered as a result of Stefan not being able to play live and since then Akkolyte haven't stopped consistently playing local shows, putting out piss poor d.i.y. releases, and getting out of town whenever able to do so. Oh yeah and just so you know....we'll never get a fucking guitarist so don't even bother mentioning it. Rhythm section grind for life!!!! Our lyrics are just as much personal as they are political but in short we write mostly about "the evolutionary mishap of man as machine", individuality, isolation, misanthropy, drugs, life, death, love, hate, vivisection, and growing to reject all false ethics that have been rammed down our throats since the very beginning. We stand for seeking out one's own path rather than conforming to that which pushes for massive world change. There will be no external freedom if there will never be internal freedom thus proving that we are completely fucked. Life is too short(or seemingly unending for some of us) to get hung up on that which is destined to carry on in futility. We welcome the apocalypse with wide open arms and in turn offer up all that continuoussly builds off of our frustration. p.s. One more thing.......No homophobic, sexist, racist, or otherwise bigotted bands need apply to be on our friends list. We don't take well to the whole overtly confrontational, and offensive bit that is quite prevalent in the grind/h.c. scene today. We are not p.c. extremists nor are we apathetic. We believe that with music today, much more needs to be done in the way of originality. Aside from that we believe in rejecting all barriers and ingrained prejudices to the furthest extent possible. We aren't out to preach our view but would rather be affiliated with something that provokes thought and has real substance to it.
