AKSAK MABOUL is the band founded in 1977 by Marc Hollander (now head of Crammed Discs), and Vincent Kenis (now the producer of the "Congotronics" series for the label). Together they playfully fused and deconstructed all kinds of genres to create their own musical world, releasing two cult albums that, with their blend of fake jazz, electronics, imaginary African, Balkan & systems music and more besides, seem retrospectively to have mapped out the way for the various directions explored by Crammed over the next three decades. The first Aksak Maboul release in years (or is it decades ?) is a track entitled "Land Dispute", which is part of .."Tradi-Mods vs Rockers (Alternative Takes on Congotronics)".., the tribute album which comes out in November 2010. -
