AKURAT is probably the most cheerful Polish group. Their albums and concerts bring induce a convivial mood and are a source of boundless energy and joy. It is also a kind of play - both with the words and the sound. Despite the economic crisis, changeable weather and political wars, AKURAT has retained their optimistic outlook on life, which proves catching for ever growing numbers of fans.

AKURAT is compared with The Madness by some and with Manu Chao by others. What is unquestionable, however, is the fact that AKURAT have found their own recognizable style, and it can be best described by the combination of the following: rock +reggae + ska + energy.

For several years AKURAT have been on tour all over Poland, and they have also played abroad on numerous occasions. They are genuine stars on the independent scene and regularly plays at music festivals (also abroad).

AKURAT was founded in Bielsko-Biala. After many changes in the band's line-up, including the vocalist, the group now consists of professional and experienced musicians. Now the band are: Piotr Wróbel and Wojciech 'Yellow' Zólty (vocals, guitars), Przemyslaw 'Pastuch' Zwias (sax , flute), Ireneusz Wojnar (bass) and Krzysztof 'Flipper' Krupa (percussion).

AKURAT started their professional career with three concerts at Przystanek Woodstock (1998, 1999, 2001). Then they appeared in Jarocin, at Hunter Fest, Przystanek Olecko, FAMA, Regalowisko as well as at Hrahovka, Punk do Police, Skateboard Fest, Mish & Mash Party in the Czech Republic.

'Pomarancza' - their first album - was an immediate success with the fans and „Hahahaczyk", „Espania (jem pomarancze)" and „Lubie mówic z Toba" became the group's concert stock.

'Prowincja' and 'Fantasmagorie' albums were then released, and 'Wiej-ska', 'Do prostego czlowieka' and 'Fantasmagorie' were songs which featured on TOP lists all over Poland for many weeks.

In 2008 the OPTYMISTYKA album was released – the latest album of AKURAT, which - as it is rich in surprises - has showed AKURAT as a fully mature and professional band, which has lost nothing of its youthful vitality. Their music is definitely rock and it still features elements of ska and reggae rhythms. The charismatic vocalists and guitarists, a well-sounding brass section and a rhythmic section to match well make AKURAT a very powerful band, which has its every single reach the top regions of the charts.
