With roots in funk, soul, hip-hop and jazz, Alamode is a Sydney-based group that has worked hard to become one of the most exciting live bands of its genre in Australia. Established in 2007, the band is comprised of a core six-piece dynamic instrumental section that has harnessed the unique vocal talents of Michelle Martinez (Silverchair, Paul Mac Band, Ricki-Lee) to deliver its energetic, electrifying live sounds to Sydney and beyond.
2008 saw Alamode release its debut album “The Fettuccine Method” (Independent) which inspired a response of packed-out performances at Sydney venues such as The Basement, the Annandale Hotel and the Factory Theatre. The band headlined shows including the Spirit of Soul festival with Melbourne’s Bamboos as well as the legendary Jackie Orzasky.
In 2009, Alamode toured Malaysia, showcasing the band to Asian audiences by headlining at the prestigious Miri International Jazz Festival and appearing at venues such as Kuala Lumpur’s Laundry Bar. Alamode is currently working on its second studio album, due for release in early 2010.
