アラン・パトン　（アコーディオン、歌、ノコギリ、クラリネット、他）プログレや東欧のロマ音楽をベースにさまざまな音や感覚をmixし、独自な世界を作る音楽家。カツラ・マズルカ、ヨタロウwithメトローマンスホテル等で活動しながらソロライブやコラボレートを行なう。また、ヘブンアーティストではケチカ・ブラスカの名で活動している。レコーディングではKERA＆戸川純、三上博史、犬山犬子、METROFARCE などのCDに参加。2005年松尾スズキのミュージカル『キレイ』に出演。2009年劇団パパタラフマラのダンス芝居『PUNK DON QUIXOTE』の音楽を作曲や出演。2012年田畑真希ソロ公演『ワタシヲサスラウウタ』の音楽を作曲や出演。2010年三枚目のソロCD『Filthy』をSpeeding Farmよりリリース。

Profile

Alan Patton is a multi-instrumentalist (accordion, clarinets, musical saw, percussion, electronics, ...etc.) and composer who has collaborated with a long list of well-known artists in the thriving Tokyo underground theater and music scenes. Although originally from California, his music is primarily influenced by traditional music of the Balkans and Eastern Europe. While seemingly further displaced in Japan, he's found abundant opportunities for collaboration with Japanese musicians in Tokyo, which is a mecca for experimental music and genre/media mixing adventures. These collaborations continually evolve his work, as do a multitude of Japanese influences encountered while travelling and performing all over Japan; namely Okinawan folk songs, postwar Enka ballads, and traditional "Chin-don" street music. Of his own projects, currently most active are his two bands KATSURA MAZURKA and SABI. KM is a trio with Alan's accordion and occasional vocals accompanied by Yoko Tada (a member of world-renowned reed player Kazutoki Umezu's band KOMATCHA KLEZMER) on clarinets and saxes, and Satoshi "Abu" Iwahara (founding member of chin-don band KABOCHA SHOKAI) on bass and tuba. SABI is an accordion duo with Spannko (from the band FUKU), in which Alan also plays Andes (a sort of keyboard flute) and musical saw while sharing vocal duties. Both bands play a variety of original songs and rearrangements of traditional songs from many countries. Alan also plays solo on occasion, and his more work-oriented unit KECSKE BROASCA (accordion + 5-string violin) plays traditional tunes and "gypsified" arrangements of more popular songs for events and festivals all over Japan. He's also a founding member of METROMANCE HOTEL, a conglomeration of musicians of various genres led by cult musician and actor Yotaro Ito. Other well-known Japanese artists he has performed or collaborated with include diva Emi Eleonola (DEMI SEMI QUAVER), artist Suzuki Cohji, actor/director Matsuo Suzuki (OTONA KEIKAKU), violinist Honzi (UA, FISHMANS), actor/singer Tomorowo Taguchi ("Tetsuo: The Iron Man", BACHIKABURI), actor/singer Hiroshi Mikami ("Swallowtail"), director/singer Keralino "Kera" Sandorovich (NYLON 100°) and many many others. Recent large-scale activities: 2003 - Became a HEAVEN ARTIST licensed street musician. 2004 - Released first solo CD "Paranoid Shepherd" 2005 - Performed in Matsuo Suzuki's major musical "Kirei". 2008 - Worked with FUKU, composing and recording music for children's artist COLOBOCKLE's DVD "Tsuzuki no Ohanashi". 2009 - Composed music for and performed in theatre group PAPPA TARAHUMARA's avant-garde dance musical "Punk Don Quixote". - Released second solo CD "Lenin's Tricycle"

Sounds Like
Little Douglas saw a mouse. He ran to tell his mother, but became mixed-up; instead running to tell the mouse that he had seen his mother. The mouse did not understand, which frustrated little Douglas to tears. Meanwhile his mother gnawed holes in the baseboards until all of her teeth broke to pieces. The mouse began to produce a foamy spittle which grew and surrounded its body in a stiff capsule. A sort of hermetic seal, really.
