There was a time in America when folk music was relevant, edgy, even dangerous — a tool of personal and political expression, at once raw and beautiful. That spirit lives on in the music of Alastair Moock. He has won top honors at some of the country's most prestigious contests, including those at the Falcon Ridge, Sisters, and Great Waters Folk Festivals. In 2007 he was nominated for a Boston Music Award for Outstanding Singer/Songwriter of the Year. The Boston Globe calls him "one of the town's best and most adventurous songwriters" and The Washington Post says "every song is a gem."

an all-star cast of Boston talent, including Merrie Amsterburg, Mark Erelli, Meg Hutchinson, Todd Thibaud, Jennifer Kimball, Tim Gearan, Jimmy Ryan, The Loomers, Dinty Child, and Jim Fitting. More info here.
Hey, Moockster! the VanderBeekian wants to know when you'll be back this way-to the land of the giddy gays. Our love to Jane and the twins. See ya? Love, GSD.

Hi Alastair, thanks for being a friend. I still remember your great intimate gig in Norderstedt/Germany. Hope to seeing you soon on a bigger tour over here. You deserve it. For the sake of the song. Lightning buck
"Two Little Babies Dance Around" is stuck in my head... it's awfully catchy! the three of you should perform it at the awards ceremony. thanks so much for the party in medford!
Hi Alastair, I was so much suprised by your performance. Once again there were nog words for it. Although very untrovert you make an exellent show, taking your audience with you on a story that seems to have happend ages ago, although your still so young. It is un understatement that your voice is one never been heard by such a young guy so I just closed my eyes while singing along with you and the whole studio and there came up two thought: 1) happiness that you had taken me with you on your musical journey and 2) the feeling that you just must be and have an old soul. Good luck and come back soon! Inge (promotion Ian Britt)
