S.H.A.T.F.A.Q (Semi-Honest Answers To Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: I can't find any information on you, where should i look?
A: Through my window in a creepy manner. If that doesnt work, there is very little info about me online, but here is one recent INTERVIEW FOR THE CITRUS REPORT
Q: That's not enough info, how about some basic stuff?
A: You mean boring stuff?
Q: I don't think it's boring if I don't already know it.
A: I guess you're right. Go.
Q: What kind of materials do you use?
A: Mostly pen and inks, some watercolors and dyes. Rarely some gouache, I'm trying to use more materials, like acrylics, oils, latex, etc. I use sumi ink for a lot of my brush-ink work, and pilot hi-tek pens and whatever i can get my hands on for detailed stuff on paper.
If I'm doing stuff intended for reproduction, like CD covers, ads, etc, I use pen and ink, and then do a lot of coloring digitally, combining separate scanned layers of washes with actual digital painting, mainly because it allows for editing and it reproduces perfectly.
Q: What brushes do you use with your ink?
A: Windsor Newton Series 7 brushes.
Q: Did you go to art school?
A: No, I always wanted to but couldn't afford it and wasn't confident enough to get a student loan. Too scary.
Q: Who influences you?
A: Short answer: Everyone and everything. Long answer: I guess it really depends on the time of my life I am in. I am getting influenced by new people every day, but the constant influences from the past 15 years are modern artists / illustrators that include Sam Kieth, Jon Wayshak, Robert Bowen, Dave Correia, Derek Hess, Jim Phillips, Greg Simkins, Gris Grimly, Jhonen Vasquez, Aaron Horkey, Dave Choe, Nate Van Dyke, John Pound, Berkeley Breathed, Tex Avery, Graham Ingles, Ralph Steadman, James Jean, Tomer Hanuka, and shit there's probably more but....
Q: Will you design me a tattoo?
A: Though I have done tattoo design in the past, right now I can not take any tattoo design commissions because I have taken on too many projects and I currently do not have time.
Q: Will you be mad if I get one of your images that you have already done tattooed on me? Do I need your permission?
A: Nope. You do not need my permission and I will not be mad. In fact, I will be honored, even if your tattoo artist crudely carves it in your chest with a roughed-up butter knife and some pilot ink mixed with blood. Actually, i prefer the latter. It's tougher. If you do get anything tattooed, please send me photos i would love to see them.
Q: What about copyrighted images like album cover stuff?
A: No, you dont need permission for that either, not from me, and not from the record label, but if you did, it would be better to NOT get permission, and then dare some weird copyright cop to come carve it off of your skin. So don't ask. Just do.
Q: Can you design my album art for my band / clothing company?
A: For any serious inquiries, please email bunnywithmail@gmail.com . If i can not do it, it is most likely due to my lack of time, not lack of interest. I really do love you. So much, in fact, I probably need a restraining order. I am probably thinking of raping you violently.
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: Under your bed.
Q: What is ZEROFRIENDS?
A: Zerofriends is a group of artists, musicians, designers, etc in which i am one of the founding members. We are mainly focused right now on apparel and high-end art reproductions (giclee prints) of a lot of my favorite art. You can purchase our clothing and prints on THE ZEROFRIENDS STORE

If i am not creating, i will die.
here is my "official" bio, which just means its a bunch of stuff about me that sounds weird cuz even though i didnt write it, i am posting it here, and it seems lke it is in the third person, but check it out anyway. i contemplated changing all of the "alex pardee"s to "me" or "my" but then it sounded even more pretentious.
ps. i love LOST, late 80's horror movies and soundtracks to extreme sports movies like Rad and Bloodsport more than i love you, but there is still room in my heart for you. I promise.
BIO:
"Alex Pardee’s unique style is one conceived through watching years of horror movies, writing graffiti, and listening to gangster rap. His work best represents that of a circus sideshow cemetery. Final pieces are often brought to life by translating random shapes and colors into signs of torment and absurdity. By juxtaposing these two conflicting moods, Alex makes his works more personal to his viewers, forcing them to project their own feelings and emotions onto each character in his twisted universe.
After months of hospitalization and many futile attempts at seeking out professional help, Alex finally overcame his battle with severe depression and anxiety through his own form of therapy: art. His love for drawing and painting spawned from his fascination with the grotesque images of Garbage Pail Kids and Tales from the Crypt comics. For years Alex used sketch drawing and graffiti as an emotional outlet. He started photocopying collections of his sketches and scattering them around the Bay Area. He began placing his homemade books between the pages of tattoo and porn magazines, in clinic waiting rooms, and in public bathrooms. With the help of street canvas and Kinkos, Alex was able to overcome his emotional setbacks and move forward in the world of artistic expression.
In 1999 Alex was convinced by other artists to reprint his books professionally. He began working long shifts at a local toy store to finance this reprinting, and later that year My Book of Colors was released.
Since the release Alex has devoted every minute of his life to creating an entire universe of characters and monsters. In the past five years he has continued to release books like The Secrets of Hollywood and the popular Bunnywith series. The comics have spawned an entire plush line, calendars, and art exhibitions.
Alex Pardee’s devotion to his art has gained the attention of Warner Bros., Reprise Records, Freeze Management, Hurley International, KidRobot, Twenty Twenty Skateboards, and more. In 2004 he was tapped by the gold-selling rock group The Used to design the artwork for their album, In Love and Death. Alex’s designs were not only applied to record, but also the band’s merchandise, Website, marketing campaign, and the music video for the single “All That I’ve Got.” More recently, Alex Has been working with Def Jux recording artist CAGE, as well as STREET DRUM CORPS, TOP-R, EL-P, and high-fashion designer Dr. Romanelli.
In addition to demeaning celebrities, Alex continues to use his art as a means of self-medication, creating emotionally charged images on canvases, sketchbooks, and any other surfaces he can cover with his bizarre characters.
