Life itself doesn`t generally work as mathematics. There are no binomial formulas, no Pythagoras` theorem, no rules for isosceles triangles which computed results are obectively revisable. Life is rather like music: unpredictable, complex, depending on moods, short: Life sounds like A_liFe [DivideD]. That`s the reason for this programmatic band name. That`s the reason for a stylistic spectrum that can`t be reduced to a specific formula.
What does that mean in detail? Strong, modern metal meets electronic beats, fascinating noises waft through spheres, sounds first hard then soft, grabs and let up, is melodic and gruff at the same time. References? None. To satisfy journalistic cross references you could define the bandwith as follows: From Depeche Mode to Devin Townsend, from Vast to Static X, from Nine Inch Nails to Bon Jovi.
The second album of the band is called Far, a power pack with 15 intoxicating songs which all were recorded, produced and mixed at the bands own studio. The sound and songwriting is outstanding and can keep up with most of the so called major releases. On countless gigs since 2003 A_liFe[DivideD] has proved to be an ass kicking live act as well. From the very south to the very north of Germany the band left a wide road of ecstasy. In front of the stage you can find settled metal heads and curious teenagers at the same time. Not surprising: The music is innovative and timeless.
A_liFe [DivideD] is Jürgen Plangger (voc), Korl Fuhrmann (drums), Toby Egger (bass), Mike Hofstätter (guitar), Tony Berger (guitar) and Erik Damköhler (guitar/programming). Six musicians whose artistically visions bundle perfectly in the band name. With a drummer whos power in playing fucks up three cymbals a month, a guitar player who shows the whole scale of modern guitar play with his power riffs, spherical interludes and virtuosic soli. With a charismatic singer whose personal reflections and mistakes are the seed for his lyrics.
To make a long story short: A_liFe [DivideD] is something you must have heard. There`s no doubt!
And that`s what the press said! All big rock and metal magazines (Metal Hammer, Rock Hard, Break Out, Heavy oder was!!? and Metal Heart) ennobled the band to be one of the biggest german hopes in the scene. Another praise comes from prominent colleges such like Marian Gold of Alphaville or Fluxx of Oomph!: For me A_liFe [DivideD] is one of the few german bands who know how to combine melancholic melodies, electronic instruments and agressive guitar rock. The emotional depth of their songs reminds me of one of my favorite bands Stabbing Westward. These guys know what they are talking about.
