…. Allison Brown likes her religion a little bit dirty, her country music with a little bit of syrup and keeps her folk as dusty as the ol’ cabin floor. With tales of broken hearts and bad weather, her sweet and powerful singing expresses her enduring character with a striking honesty. Allison brings her truest self to the stage in a refreshing conversation with the audience.

… After a performance hiatus in 2008, Allison has reconstructed her repertoire and will be recording the follow-up to her recently re-issued as a limited edition debut recording “Everything That Shined”. Looking ahead to a fall release date, the new album will feature Allison’s newest originals alongside favourite “New Old Songs” from Allison’s hatful of roots, traditional, country, blues and classic folk repertoire. Allison is eagerly anticipating sessions at the home studio of master of musical tradition, David Essig, on BC’s Protection Island and her eleven-date Greyhound Bus tour all the way back to London.

Dedicated to sharing folk music with the community, she is also the host of "For The Folk", every Wednesday night from 8:30 to 10pm, on London's CHRW Radio 94.9fm. She also works at GROOVES Records where she surrounds herself with all the divine vinyl and indie new releases her ears can hear while supplying London’s urban artists with high-grade graffiti paint. Allison also crochets, reads Canadian novels and rides her bike “Pearl” along the Thames River.

Allison tours regularly through Ontario and has also performed in Manitoba, B.C, and Quebec; both as a soloist and with many other musical friends. Allison was featured part of the wildly successful yearly Ontario adventure; "The Girls With Glasses Tour", with songwriters Evalyn Parry, Eve Goldberg, and Karyn Ellis for the past four winters, but this year, focused on other sights, will not be appearing except for the tour’s stop in London. A country warbler at heart, Ms. Brown lended vocals to London's bluegrass quartet "The Goin' Concern" at festivals, backyard parties and the ruckus raised on Bluegrass Sunday night every week at the Alex P Keaton for over three years.

Every time that we listen & write music... play an instrument... sing & dance... act in a play... or work in some audio/image/video engineering process... something is healing inside...
When we share it with friends... something is healing all over...
