Shortly after three eight-year-old boys were found mutilated and murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas, local newspapers stated the killers had been caught. The police assured the public that the three teenagers in custody were definitely responsible for these horrible crimes. Evidence?
The same police officers coerced an error-filled €œconfession€? from Jessie Misskelley Jr., who is mentally handicapped. They subjected him to 12 hours of questioning without counsel or parental consent, audio-taping only two fragments totaling 46 minutes. Jessie recanted it that evening, but it was too late€” Misskelley, Jason Baldwin and Damien Echols were all arrested on June 3, 1993, and convicted of murder in early 1994.
Although there was no physical evidence, murder weapon, motive, or connection to the victims, the prosecution pathetically resorted to presenting black hair and clothing, heavy metal t-shirts, and Stephen King novels as proof that the boys were sacrificed in a satanic cult ritual. Unfathomably, Echols was sentenced to death, Baldwin received life without parole, and Misskelley got life plus 40.
For over 12 years, The West Memphis Three have been imprisoned for crimes they didn€™t commit. Echols waits in solitary confinement for the lethal injection our tax dollars will pay for. They were all condemned by their poverty, incompetent defense, satanic panic and a rush to judgment.
But there€™s still hope for them, and you can help.

Supporting the WM3 till they are released. It's plain as day that these 3 are innocent. How could the judge and all involved in their conviction live with themseles knowing what they were doing to these innocent children? I am so curious as everyone else must be about the new incriminating evidence and who it points to. It's way past time for these boys (young men) to go home. FREE THE WM3

What ever happened to Innocent until proven guilty? These guys never had a chance! Arkansas wake the fuck up! All the officials saw were 3 boys who expressed themselves but wearing black and listening to Metallica~~so what..If this is the way you guys prosecute people then I am guilty! There is NO evidence anywhere in any form to keep these 3 behind bars like animals in cages especially Damian who is on Death Row for YOUR actions! I realy hope you can sleep at night! For Damian, We all are out here praying for you and pray this DNA evidence will send you, Jason, and Jessie home soon. The judicial system sucks and people pay everyday for them being wrong and it isn't fair. I can not tell you that, you already know while sitting in your cell 23 hours a day. I just hope that more officals, and the court system takes a good look at this case and realize they are wrong and admit it! Because you love summer! Because the 9th sucked for me! To celebrate my kids going to university! Because I will miss my babies horribly! Because I rarely drink, but someone ought to be celebrating! Thanks for adding me. This goes out to Damien, Jesse, and Jason: We all support you and know you all are innocent. With the new DNA evidence last year all people even the people who don't stand behind should now because scientific proof has shown you're all innocent. Next month are the trails and hopefully by early October you all will be free. God bless and good luck guys. I will always support you.
Are there going to be any type of support, support groups ect standing outside of the courthouse on the day of the trial...? Like was the case with the Michael Jackson trial etc......just wondering, because I would be very interested in doing that!

It's my sons & family's story and what happend to him and his 2 friends when they were arrested and charged with a murder they did not commit. Proven, Coerced, and False Confessions were what held them in jail a 178 days.

When I 1st heard about what had happened, reading the books, the website, etc, I wanted to move to Arkansas. I wanted to convince people to block all traffic on every road in the state with their bodies until the arrogance of judges with God complexes who won't change their decisions might be overridden. By the way, my friend Jennifer Null used to write to you and she says hello. I used to buy you books when I had a better job. It was outsourced. Jennifer says the use of sage in the old house worked for a time but she had to move. We love you. Your artwork and writing is beautiful. We tell people about you whenever we have a chance.
