Lucida Sans

The only professional burlesque troupe to operate out of a college campus, SUNY New Paltz-based Alpha Psi Ecdysia puts the "hot" in "America's Hottest Small State School". In less than a year, A.P.E. has performed six full-length theme shows in their native New Paltz, plus performances at the Great Boston Burlesque Expo; New York's Slipper Room, Rififi, Sugarland, and Monday Night Burlesque; LA's Monday Night Tease and Victory Variety Hour; and San Francisco's Little Minsky's and Spookshow A-Go-Go. A.P.E. features a rotating cast of more than sixty A.P.Ecdysiasts, from rhinestone-in-the-rough newbies to some of burlesque's finest ingenues, including Lady Legs, Gemma Stone, Lucida Sans, Miss Elixir, Angelique A'LaMode, Spartacus Rising, Izebel Vivant, Ginger Snap and more. Heralded by burlesque photographer Linus Gelber as "dangerous-minded" and "infectious", A.P.E.'s shows feature striptease, comedy, circus, dance and live music by Anton Jackov and The Threesomesters. The members of Alpha Psi Ecdysia remain committed to their education (or at least their burlesque education), training under the New York School of Burlesque's Jo Boobs, Tigger, Mel Frye and more. Alpha Psi Ecdysia is proud to be entirely student founded, student run, and autodidactic.
