AMBER OJEDA LIVE AT THE MINT
The state of commercial radio has music purists clamoring to find sounds that touch the soul. As the current formulaic production of our RnB flatlines, there are still a few artistic gems which present with an unheralded appeal. By virtue of my occupation I have been fortunate enough to "discover" a diva to be. Amber Ojeda’s stellar debut titled "Here I Am" is the aural equivalent of an appetizer that fills and satisfies. Replete with excellent melody, funky beats and rhythm that flows, it is a crisp cornucopia of melody we can all appreciate. Accept my testimony that "Ladylike" is a track which merits heavy rotation. We hope that this is only the beginning, an independent release reinforcing the Nu, the Neo, the Soul Movement. Label it what you wish but as commercial RnB falls short, you owe it to yourself to add some zest to your collection. Amber Ojeda will do more than whet the appetite, she will fulfill.
To put it short and sweet Amber Ojeda is vintage with a modern flare. Equal parts talent and ambition, she has managed to precisely dial into the new digital world of music. Amber’s sultry and subtle vibrato is nostalgic of the 1930’s and 40’s. However it’s her effortless ability to lace jazz & soul with hip hop undertones that will have even the biggest skeptics bobbing their heads in approval.
