American Roots Live's purpose is to promote and preserve what we recognize as American roots music, the heartbeat of our culture - Jazz, Blues, Country, Rock&Roll, R&B, Rock, Bluegrass, Folk, Gospel, Soul, BeeBop, Dixieland, Zydeco, Cajun, Native American and everything that came before.
This music - the popular music of a time from late 19th century through the 70's of the 20th century - is what ARL recognizes as roots music and celebrates it with modern sense.
ARL also promotes a revivalist "live music scene".
ARL encourages children and young adults to appreciate roots as the birthplace of today's music. ARL provides opportunity for young, aspiring musicians to play on stage with professional musicians.
The impetus of our effort is significant.
It is our mission to promote and preserve the DNA of popular American music through live performance, recorded media, television, internet, radio, podcast, print, etc.
