American Roots Live Mission Statement:
American Roots Live's purpose is to promote and preserve what we recognize as roots music, the heartbeat of our culture - Jazz, Blues, Country, Rock&Roll, R&B, Rock, Bluegrass, Folk, Gospel, Soul, BeeBop, Dixieland, Zydeco, Cajun, Native and everything in between that came before.
This music of a time period running roughly from the late 19th century through the 1970's of the 20th century, makes the genre ARL recognizes as roots. It is also our purpose to promote a revival of the "live music scene".
ARL is to encourage and inspire children and young adults to appreciate roots music as the birthplace of today's music and to provide opportunities for young, aspiring musicians to play on stage with professional musicians.
The impetus of our effort is significant as roots music is no longer mainstream. It resides in an ever narrowing niche away from mainstream audiences.
As exampled by music venues originally opened as "live music" rooms; blues, country or roots, now forced to find other forms of entertainment to pay their bills, or close their doors.
Disturbingly, this is our reality.
It is therefore ARL's mission to promote and preserve the fragile genre through live performance, television, radio, print media, recorded media, internet, pod-cast, etc. so children will pass it on to their children and so forth...
We need your interest and support - musician and fan alike. Keep the music alive.
Founded in March of 2006, by Nasty Ned, American Roots Live functions as a dedicated volunteer group of regional American Roots Live Ambassadors; Duane Chez-Puerto Rico, John Powers-New Jersey, JR Bradfield-New Jersey, HoneyBoy Dupree-Arizona, Billy K-Pennsylvania.
