“I write to express moments of feeling whole and of mystical feelings of joy. For me, joy stems from an acceptance of the complex situations of life. It means being with who I am through the changeable paths of life and discovering peace, not in ideals, but in acceptance and appreciation of what is.” - Andrew Hall
This site is dedicated to remembering Andrew Hall and his music. Andrew passed away unexpectedly in February 2009 at the age of 43. Music was incredibly important to Andrew; he busked regularly with his guitar on the evening streets of Cambridge, close to the Round Church, and would listen to music every day.
Around 1996 Andrew recorded 18 of his own compositions in a studio in demo form, which he collectively named "Visions", of which a few cassette copies remain. Andrew gave one of these in 2006 to his outreach worker Dominic, with whom he used to play guitar, and an idea was born to transfer the recordings to digital format and to press a CD, for Andrew to sell whilst busking. It took until early 2009 for this idea to be realised, but very sadly Andrew never got to see the finished product, as he died suddenly whilst they were being prepared.
Andrew's mother Gillian has decided that there would be no better way to remember him than through his music, and his CD has poignantly become the perfect tribute, as it sums up his warm character, his love of nature, his optimism and his enthusiasm for the world, and for life. Andrew's lyrics say it all, and his beautiful singing and talent for songwriting shine through. "Visions of Andrew Hall" was a "lost" album for 13 years, but is now available for those who wish to personally remember Andrew, and for others, to discover a genuine musical talent, and journey into the positive world of a wonderful human being.

Andrew suffered from mental health problems since the mid 1990's. Despite these difficulties his spirit and outlook remained positive. It is hoped that profits from the sales of Visions will benefit Rethink's Opening Doors Campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of physical health checks for those will serious mental health problems.
