Andru Donalds doesn't mind being called "the gentle giant". Listen to him sing live and there can no longer be any doubt about that nickname. Along with his physical presence, he has a colossal voice. Massive, loaded with energy. After having been discovered by jazz legend Bruce Lundvall, the youthful singer was driving through a summer night with his mentor, the legendary producer Eric Foster White (Whitney Houston, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears), the two of them out looking for inspiration. Suddenly the line "Loving you is heaven, missing you is hell" came out of nowhere, he hummed a rough melody line and that was the launch of his first global hit "Mishale". That classic song garnered songwriter Andru Donalds double platinum awards for more than half a million records sold - and that in Germany alone! But not only there - the song went to the top of the charts in Japan, the USA and Brazil as well as throughout Europe. During a vacation in Greece, the mastermind behind ENIGMA, Michael Cretu became enchanted with the expressive voice singing "Mishale". He set out to find him and soon Cretu convinced Andru to become the featured singer for Enigma, resulting in a resurgence of interest for this already successful and groundbreaking international success story. Michael Cretu returned the favor by producing the solo Andru Donalds hit "All Out of Love" and his subsequent albums. Since then, they have maintained their artistic alliance to this day, resulting in over fifty million albums sold globally and more than fifty number one hits worldwide. After recharging his batteries, 2010 is to be the year in which the gentle giant with the distinctive voice returns to the spotlight with his new CD "TROUBLE IN PARADISE". For this project the Jamaican perfectionist took as much time as was necessary - two years of work in the studio. Producer Markus Born (Söhne Mannheims, Xavier Naidoo, Laith Al-Deen) and Andru invited the finest musical hands available, with only one prerequisite - lots of concert stage experience; among them were Keith "Roughhouse" Powell on bass, Ralf Gustke & Florian Sitzmann (Xavier Naidoo), Matthias Meusel (Roger Cicero) and guitarist Klaus Bittner who has worked with Andru for several years. Collectively, they provided the musical foundation for Andru to give his expressive and exuberant voice full rein on "TROUBLE IN PARADISE". This charismatic singer knows exactly how to get the most out of his distinctive voice - in a live setting, without studio wizardry.
