"Mac revives the buoyant spirit of alternative pop/rock in a fashion similar to
artists like Tal Bachman and Duncan Sheik. Crisp arrangements, breezy ivory
tickling, and compelling sentiment combine, subverting commercial jingle-jangle
with a dash of personality."
-Shut Eye Records (Atlanta)
"With luscious, delectable harmonies, Mac's acoustic based pop is very pleasant
and beautifully easy on the ears."
-The Buffalo News
"Andy Mac writes intelligent, well-crafted arrangements that eventually will be
recognized by the masses."
-OutofStep
"Andy Mac has picked up his guitar and perfected the sensitive-boy-sings-his-
heart-out-thing."
-Artvoice Magazine (Buffalo)
"Andy Mac is an artist you’ll want to listen to. It takes a true gift to create such sleek musical synthesis. He's a virtuoso in the art of putting all the right musical pieces, in all the right places. In their career, every songwriter wishes to attain such melodic appeal that Mac has so easily achieved. Originality, even within his own musical niche is perhaps what makes him so great. Each song has a new stylistic addition or change that makes each track interesting, building Mac’s repertoire into a single morphing entity rather than a list of formulated tracks. There are thousands of songwriters that can concoct memorable hooks and chorus lines and while Mac achieves this, he also goes beyond, making the entire song enjoyable: the verses are just as pleasing as the choruses. There is no doubt that with proper exposure and persistence Mac will achieve a earned level of success."
-Provayo
"Andy Mac’s debut solo album, Music for a Bright Moon Sky, shows influences from both experiences with lush harmonies, clever arrangements, and witty lyrics. Calling Mac a multi-talented artist would be an understatement."
-Rebel Spirit Music
"In the dictionary, there should be a picture of Andy Mac’s cheeky face next to the word ‘loveable’, and, in the future, when things like this are possible, one or two of his tunes also. It’s the finest sonic approximation of a smile one could hope to hear an acoustic guitar deliver. Melancholic but not downtrodden, charming without being overbearing, happy yet not frivolous, all these are qualities which have lead to him becoming one of New York’s most highly regarded new singer songwriters, and brought him to the attention of the likes of MTV and Fox, whose programmes have both featured his tunes to good effect."

Still Life with Andy Mac
Andy Mac writes pop songs for people who don't think they like pop music. Although the hooks and harmonies are pleasurably addictive, the lyrical focus skews darker, speaking to an earnest melancholy more familiar to fans of indie singer/songwriter-based bands such as The Swell Season.
A few bars into one of his songs, and more than a few surprised new listeners nodding both in time to the music, and in emphatic agreement with his starkly honest take on relationships, damage and salvation.
When he moved to New York City from Buffalo, NY, Andy brought his debut album, "Music for a Bright Moon Sky" (Stay Clean Music, 2005). A fully independent effort on his own label, the CD completely sold out of its first run, and music from that release was featured on 20th Century Fox and MTV television shows, and on XM Radio.
His sophomore release, titled "Struggle Fantastic", is at once more positive and more introspective, and reveals a maturing artist working through increasingly complicated situations in an effort to find redemption. Co-produced by Chris Cubeta and Andy at GaluminumFoil Studios in Brooklyn, NY, and mastered by Richard Morris at Scott Hull Mastering.
Funded mostly by donations from Andy's fans, the album is set for a fall 2009 release. Following that, Andy plans to tour the Northeast and California, and will be promoting the effort with a radio campaign targeting select markets.
