Updated/revised...again. xD As a note to those trying to figure out what happened, my Youtube account was suspended due to copyright violation on songs and anime. I started uploading my mixes to Dailymotion.com (www.dailymotion.com/animedreamer240) and still am. A couple videos were rejected..but I'll keep uploading anyway. And recently, someone emailed me saying he could make me a video streaming website so my videos won't get deleted, but I don't have any more details on it, nor do I know when it will happen. I'll keep you guys updated! I'm trying to find a new home for my mixes.

I am really your average 20-year old college student majoring in Psychology. Making Trance and Hardcore Techno mixes is just a little hobby on the side. My second passion is writing; I take an active part in writing my own stories and role-playing. My third passion is anime. I'm practically an Anime Otaku now, which means I am obsessed with it! My top 5 anime are: Last Exile, Monster, Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, and The Rose of Versailles. Free Music: Tips

Here are the methods I use to find my music. I don't remember them all right off hand, so I'll update the list when I remember more.

1. Rapidshare. This is the best method I can think of to obtain free music, and not just with music, but for movies as well. It will only be very useful to you if you purchase a premium account on www.rapidshare.com so you have no limitations. Although you can still use this method without purchasing one--it'll just be annoying. To my understanding, it's unlimited free downloading for that period of time you pay for. To find the songs, it's best to go to Google and type the name of the song/artist along with the keyword "rapidshare." You can also try searching on www.filestube.com. You will need Winrar to unzip the files you download.

2. www.imeem.com. Imeem is a great place to stream music. They won't let you download the songs for free, but you can get past that. Here is my method. Go search for the song you want on Imeem, and copy the URL address on the page where the song plays. Then go to www.file2HD.com and paste the URL there. The song will save to your computer in .flv format. Then all you will need is a .flv to .mp3 converter. This method has worked for me 90% of the time. Some songs just don't work out for whatever reason; go to Youtube to find other ways to get Imeem songs for free.

3. www.iwanttracks.com. This is an audio search engine. Go to that link, type the song you want, and there just might be a direct mp3 for you to download.

4. Torrents. I suggest that you research on what torrents are because I don't want to explain here. I recommend that you download something like "Utorrent" to handle your torrents. As a useful tip, go to Google and find torrents from Digitally Imported Radio. Those torrents have over hundreds and hundreds of trance and happy hardcore songs--some of the best. Torrenting is a timely process, so you'll need real patience for this method. Watch out for dead torrents. =P

5. Google Archives. Visit www.jimmyr.com and there is an MP3 google search engine. Its purpose is to locate free mp3s online that you can download directly to your computer. If you're confused during your search, you can always find jimmy's tutorial called "Google Is Better Than Limewire" on youtube.

6. DJ Mixes. Definitely go find mixes by DJs and download them--they're typically found in mp3 format or can be downloaded through rapidshare and torrents. You'll want to go to google and type a song/artist with the keyword "mix" to locate one. OR go find a website dedicated to mixes like http://mixes.djfez.com/mixes/index.php. You can use a program like Windows Movie Maker to cut individual songs out of the hour long mixes and save them as individual mp3s.

7. Itunes. Okay, this isn't free, but it's only 99 cents per song! Sometimes when I absolutely can't find a song I want, I go here as my last resort and pay 99 cents. Itunes has really come in handy. The way to get itunes songs on your hard drive is to go to Preferences, Advanced, and select the mp3 encoder. Then insert a blank audio CD to burn the song to. Once it pops up in your itunes library after burning, right-mouse click on the song and select "convert to mp3." Then search for the mp3 file on your computer.

8. I'll throw out a couple more ideas, but I haven't used these before. One of my friends says that he can record any song that plays on his computer (from websites) using his internal computer mic, as long as there is no other noise going on. And another one hacks myspace music players.
