Sounds Like
Catchy sing-along punk rock-n-roll anthems. At times you smile and wanna hold a beer high. Others you wanna grin and let your fists fly.
The ANTAGONIZERS originally formed in 2001 and have gone through more members than we care to mention. The good thing is that they’ve all been friends and we are all still friends to this day. The level of talent has noticeably & steadily increased with each incarnation of the band and, with the current roster, has reached new heights and possess what we feel to be the strongest line-up to date.
To those that have seen an ANTAGONIZERS show, it is needless to say that the band’s live performance is a true display of alcohol-fueled power, wholehearted energy & spirit, and street punk pride. Oh, and of course there are always plenty of spontaneous shenanigans.
- THE MEMBERS -
BOHDAN
Bohdan has been in various bands over the years including Vibram 94 out of NYC, which had a release on Helen of Oi! Records and Sta Press Records (the latter of which he owned and operated). As vocalist for Cut Throat from his hometown of Cleveland, Bohdan was front-and-center on the infamous Dirty Byrd album that was released on Knock Out Records in Germany.
ALLEN
Allen has been playing guitar for 20+ years and has been teaching lessons for over 15 years. In addition to ANTAGONIZERS, you can see Allen performing another band from Durham, the phenomenal surf/garage combo Blood Red River.
DAN
Dan has actually pulled duty on bass in the past, and has recently returned to do what he does best... throwin’ down some killer bass lines and backing vocals. In addition to the ANTAGONIZERS you can catch Dan taking the stage with Chapel Hill's Shoot First...CHECK 'EM OUT!
CARLTON
Carlton is the quintessential punk rock (or rock in general for that matter) drummer--fast in the right places, laid back in the right places, ready to roll. He also plays in Shoot First.
DOMINIC
Coming aboard in 2006, Nico has helped breathe new life into an already energetic ANTAGONIZERS line-up. Sharing guitar duties with Allen as well as adding back-up vocals, Nico’s true home is the stage and it undoubtedly shows in the band’s live performances. He has an established punk/hardcore foundation performing in such bands as Evil I, The Agency, Motorbilly, and is currently the guitarist in Raleigh-based punk rock band SUKI-T.
The mix of experience between all ANTAGONIZERS members has allowed us to develop a unique sound and presence as the leading street-punk band regionally as well as gaining nationwide recognition. We have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such major touring acts as Pietasters, The Business, Blitz, Roger Miret, Rancid, Murphys Law, Street Dogs, Casualties, Horror Pops, Vibrators and on and on.....!

The new ANTAGONIZERS/Empire Falls split CD is currently available at live shows while supplies last. This spring the band will be heading into the studio to produce a full-length CD to be released later in the year. Con el tercer disco en marcha y la gira terminada, os presentamos nuestro nuevo videoclip. El tema elegido es "El futuro nunca existió", canción que dio título a nuestro segundo trabajo y que nos ha hecho girar por toda la península y México. Nos parece que este es el mejor final de una etapa para ahora centrarnos en nuestro nuevo CD "Realidades alienantes..." y comenzar una nueva gira de presentación a partir de Abril.
