About Anthony Pierpont & The Pierpont Family
My name is Anthony Pierpont and I was born in Santa Barbara, a beautiful coastal town about 2 hours north of Los Angeles in southern California. I was raised in an aquatic environment always engaged in activities that included swimming, surfing and snorkeling. It is these activities that took me to many areas of the world. In fact, as you will read, I was raised in a family whose lineage sought every opportunity to travel extensively.
All of my family members are successful entrepreneurs in industries ranging from Real Estate to Clothing, Coffee to Antiques, and Furniture production to Sales.
I was obviously blessed with the love, ethics, integrity, family values and work ethic of both parents. My father was a world class photographer. Perhaps this is why I maintain a vast appreciation for art, art history and music on a world wide scale.
My mother, an incredibly strong family-oriented immigrant woman, left a legacy of honor and hard work.
Like most immigrant families in the early part of the 20th century, my paternal family also immigrated... from Ohio to Los Angeles with the hope of finding a more opportunistic life for the families they were raising. It is the immigration to our country’s Wild West and the love of life that perhaps set in motion the love of travel that has come to define the Pierpont family.
Pierpont Family History
The history of Pierpont Family ancestry dates all the way back to the Conquistadors and the Vikings which makes for a long, extensive and, yes, rooted family tree.
The Pierpont family tree includes German peasantry and Spanish Royalty; my humble Spanish maternal grandfather who would migrate to Mexico to become a premiere architect; Marshal Del Prado would marry a Fourth Generation Mexican woman whose lineage traced to the time of Ferdinand and Isabella, the Catholic monarchs whose marriage in the late 15th century united the two kingdoms and Castile and Aragon and whose descendants created the Kingdom of Spain.
My paternal lineage sees a German immigrant’s daughter, affectionately referred to as Grandma Louis, marrying Jack Morgan Pierpont whose own ancestry dates to The Reverend J.M. Pierpont, the founder of Yale University. Dating further back, and all researched and certified by historians, are the Pierpont Knights that rode with William the Conqueror in the battle of Hastings which secured the only successful invasion and conquest of the British Isle. The Pierpont Vikings lineage is also traced back to the Royal families of Scandinavia (~ 400 BC). All of this might explain the Pierpont family’s passion for travel – always seeking out new and different cultures to learn and understand. The main difference this time around is that the camera accompanies the traveling instead of the sword.
Anthony Pierpont’s Two Loves:
Cooking and Wine
I earned my college degree in California which has provided me many of the necessary tools in founding successful and sometimes not so successful companies. However, it is these failures that have proved to be the best teachers because they’ve equipped me with the skills and experiences to be a successful venture capitalist.
Another love of mine is cooking and wine. I spent many rewarding years in culinary training learning from Executive Chefs all over the world. In all, I spent 10 years in the restaurant industry working with the Radisson Hotel chain in the field of management in the food and beverage area. I also learned cooking and kitchen management, restaurant management as well as banquets and catering.
My other passion is real estate with a special focus on commercial loan financing, national and international commercial property financing, commercial property acquisition, commercial real estate investment consulting as well as property management and investment consulting.
