  • Bio

.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .............. ....Myspace Layouts.. at Pimp-My-Profile.com / ..Gray and Simple.. / ..Comments.. .... (All of Anthony's songs - from all three albums - are now available for sale on iTunes).. Anthony Toner sounds like John Prine meeting James Taylor in a second hand bookshop. His heart-filled songs cover subjects as diverse as jilted lovers wracked by paranoia, disorientated spacemen and Ian Fleming’s links with Northern Ireland. He's currently touring to promote his brand new collection, The Duke of Oklahoma & Other Stories, which follows the success of his previous collection, A Sky For Every Day and the singles ‘Sailortown’ and ‘Marion, That’s All Right'. He has also composed for theatre and radio. He has also performed in Canada and the United States, sharing the stage in Nashville earlier this year with Nanci Griffith and Guy Clark. Find out more at: www.anthonytoner.net .. Reviews: .. 'Superbly played, literate and melodic songs' - Irish News .. No ‘moon in June’ material from this man… He operates outside the box - Ivan Martin, Sunday World .. 'A little bit country, a little bit pop, a little bit rock’n’roll, all packaged with bags of charm' - Sunday Life .. 'An album of melodic, articulate, perceptive, engaging songs, which come with their own built-in storyboards… throughout you'll hear gentle echoes of John Prine and James Taylor' - Cherrie McIlwaine’s Record of the Week – BBC Radio Ulster .. 'a fantastic album… packed full of honest and immediately likeable tracks' - Newtownards Chronicle ..

Hi Anthony. Yes we know how you feel. facebook and twitter has taken over. It difficult to keep up with all this new technology, especially when it's always hit and miss for folk like us to use it successfully. come on myspace get urself out there again and get ahead of the game. at least we know how to post our monthly gig list here. By the way Anthony, we are opening up for Errol Walsh in Bryson's, Magherafelt on 25th march. He very kindly invited us recommended by Peter. Really looking forward to that. As you would know it's to raise funds for Huntington's. So if you wouldn't mind could you spread the word, or if you free come along and bring a gang. So long since we seen you, but we still keep up with what your up to via facebook, radio etc. love the new album. cheers... paul and martina
