Born and raised in Kitchener, Andre Arruda moved to Toronto in 2001 to attend Humber College's Comedy: Writing and Performance program. That same year he made his stand up début by winning the Caps comedy championship. He has continued doing stand up since, performing in venues all over Toronto including The Laugh Resort, The Rivoli, and Yuk Yuks; where he currently performs every other Wednesday at their Toronto Super Club. His comedy can be best described as being filled with Lewis Black like rants blended with Bill Cosby like stories about his life as a physically disabled little person living in a world of giants. Andre has also performed sketch comedy for almost ten years touring to various schools all over southern Ontario and stages such as The Heart House, Tim Sims Play house, and Second City: Toronto. Andre is no stranger to Television and Film. Having appeared on almost every major Canadian network including CTV, CBC, The Comedy Network, Global, and MTV Canada. Also on Fox Sports where he was a series regular on Out of Bounds: With John Oakley. Andre was featured in: My Brother, My Keeper, which was awarded the winner of the Best Moc Doc Award at the 2006 World of Comedy Film Festival. Andre is also no stranger to the stage performing in many productions of playwrights such as Shakespeare, Molière, and Tennessee Williams. In 2006 Andre stared in Piccasso Pro's Oops! at Summer Works, playing a disabled con artist/bank robber. the show won the Now Audience Choice Award. Andre enjoys writing bio's about himself in a third person.
