Animal Lovers Can Vote For Their Hometown Shelter
Any Rat Rescue Can Win Up To $25,000
Glendale, AZ—From now until Dec.
14, The Animal Rescue Site (www. theanimalrescuesite. com) is giving away $100,000 in grants to participating Petfinder member shelter and rescue groups.
Any Rat Rescue is encouraging friends to click to help rescued animals on The Animal Rescue Site, and then to vote every day for their favorite participating rescue organization in the $100,000 Shelter+ Challenge. Clicking and voting is free for site visitors, but the right number of votes can mean as much as $25,000 for the winning shelter. Weekly prizes of $1,000 are also available.
“The mission of "Any Rat Rescue" is to find loving, "forever homes" for the many abandoned and often neglected or abused ratties who are looking for someone to love them.
”
Vote tallies will be updated regularly, and visitors to The Animal Rescue Site (www. theanimalrescuesite. com) can check on their favorite shelter’s tallies throughout the Challenge.
How The Shelter+ Challenge Works
Visitors to The Animal Rescue Site, www. theanimalrescuesite. com, can vote for their favorite animal welfare organization in the United States or Canada every day from Sept. 29 through Dec. 14. Weekly prizes of $1,000 will be distributed during the Challenge. Final prizes range from $1,000 to the grand prize, a $25,000 grant.
Visitors will not be asked to contribute anything but their time, first to “Click to Give” at The Animal Rescue Site and then to vote for their favorite Petfinder rescue organization.
Weekly awards of $1,000 will be given to the rescue organization with the most votes accumulated during each week. On December 15, The Animal Rescue Site will announce the winners of the final prizes. One $1,000 grant will be awarded to the organization with the highest number of votes in each state, as well as Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico (52 prizes), and two $1,000 winners will be awarded to organizations in Canada. The runner-up for total number of votes during the Challenge will receive a $10,000 grant, and the grand prize winner will receive a $25,000 grant.
More on The Animal Rescue Site and Click to Give™ program
Since 2002, The Animal Rescue Site has provided funding to animal rescue charities through three important channels: the company’s innovative Click to Give™ program, direct donations through such site programs as Gifts That Give More™, and contributions paid for by items sold through The Animal Rescue Site’s store.
Petfinder. com Foundation, the Fund for Animals, and the North Shore Animal League are all beneficiaries of the Animal Rescue Site’s Click to Give™ program.
The Click to Give™ program allows visitors to The Animal Rescue Site to provide food and care for a rescued animal living in a shelter or sanctuary by simply clicking on the purple button located at the top of the homepage (www. theanimalrescuesite. com). The Click to Give™ program is paid for by site sponsors, and 100% of sponsor ad revenue goes directly to support the work of the charities listed on the site. In 2007, clicks on The Animal Rescue Site funded the value of more than 42 million bowls of food for animals in need.
The totals of the 2008 Click to Give™ program are posted on The Animal Rescue Site’s results page and are updated daily.

These beautiful and sweet little girls are ready for adoption. They are 8 weeks old, and will need to be adopted out together, as they are very bonded to one another. They were rescued from a local pet store at only 2 ½ weeks old. They have since been raised in a loving home and although handled often they can still, at times, be very shy (especially when coming out of their cage). But they LOVE the attention! They are all very sweet, non-aggressive girls. They are used to children as well as other pets (dogs sniffing at their cage). They have not yet learned their names, so there will not be a problem if you wish to rename them. They are being fostered in Glendale, Arizona. Additional pictures are also available upon request.
Peeka, has the darkest hood. She can is quite a character and I can already
see she will be the goofball of the bunch! Although she is very interested
in us, after a short time of handling she is ready to just run about!
Miley is one of the two with the lighter hoods, and her markings go farther
down her back. She is a shy girl, but loves to be held and especially loves
full body rubs. And don’t forget the head (all three love to have their
heads/ears massaged!). So far, as they are so young, Miley seems to be the
one who will be the snuggler of the three.
Mija (Meeha) is the other of the lighter hoods, yet she has fewer markings
on her back then Miley. She is usually the first one to come out of the cage
and is less shy than her sisters. She is also a cuddler, but loves exploring
too. Her personality seems to be a mix between Peeka’s and Miley’s. So
between the three you’ll have the best combination you could hope for!
