We're AOK from Durham North Carolina. We are: Rachel (synth, vocals), Leif (guitar), Justin (guitar), Connor (bass), Reed (drums). AOK started in Durham in August of 2005 and have been playing for over a year strong. We have one ep released in January of 2006, "Locations Reel". "Locations Reel" sparked interest in a younger crowed due to it's catchy harmonies and memorable instrumentals. A single soon followed called "Missouri Loves Company", and was released on a local Ska Skank Productions sampler. While playing shows all around the Durham, Chapel Hill and Carrboro area, AOK defined it's raw, synth driven indie reminiscent of earlier Kansas band "The Anniversary". In June, AOK's original drummer Max Kaufman left the band to finish high school at North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem and was replaced by Reed Benjamin (of Across the Elementary and Deep Sea Diving). The band began to practice again and will start the process of writing and recording a new release coupled with tons of local shows.
