Biography
Aphrodite is a belly dancer who enjoys all styles of Middle Eastern dance and likes to take a little bit of everything and combine it into her own style. She is knowledgeable in dancing with different props, including veil, double veil, sword balancing, finger cymbals, cane, glass dancing (dancing while balancing on glasses), fire sword balancing, and Wings of Isis. She currently studies with multiple instructors, not only for just bellydance but other forms of dance and movement such as Brazilian Samba, Afro-Brazilian dance, hoop dance, and contortion to better understand body movement in other dance forms. She has dabbled in many other dance forms, including Salsa, West Coast Swing, Cha Cha, Hula, Bollywood, low-flying trapeze, ballet, and jazz.
Aphrodite is a member of Kaya and Sadie's world dance company, Groove du Monde and a troupe member of the Kaivalya Hoop Dancers. In 2006 she made an appearance as a backup dancer for Sadie on the Temptation of Bellydance show and appears on the performance DVD for the film, directed and produced by an Emmy-nominated producer. "One word...WOW. Aphrodite came out with a big sword. I
thought she was ready to behead someone! Her performance was
gymnastic, to say the least. I couldn't get over the backbend with
sword on belly, and belly flutters. Oh my gawd! What an amazing show." - Jawahir Bahiya, belly dancer from Boulder, Colorado
"I had the pleasure of booking Aphrodite for a New Years Eve party; I was impressed by her professionalism during the booking process and even more impressed with her dancing and performance. She was very entertaining and all of my guests had a great time. I would highly recommend Aphrodite for any event you are looking to spice up, she will have your guests talking about your party for weeks." - James Allen Thoughts from Aphrodite
In today's world sometimes it's hard to think of ourselves as beautiful women. I have seen time and time again belly dance change that for a woman. Before I started belly dancing at the age of fifteen, I was a size seventeen and thought of myself as a ugly, awkward teenager. I don't even know for sure what I weighed exactly at my heaviest because I was too ashamed to step on the scale. Something finally clicked for me one day and I started working out to become healthier, and before I know it I was losing weight. About halfway through my weight loss I went to my first belly dance class with a friend who wanted to go and never looked back. This dance gave me the self esteem that helped me through my teenage years and still gives me that to this day. I am now around fifty pounds lighter, and I love my body. Belly dancing has made me proud of it and amazed at what it can do. I have made friendships with amazing women that I would never have known if it was not for this dance. It has given me so many benefits that I cannot even begin to list them. My experience of the power of belly dancing makes me want to do nothing but share it with others, because every woman in this world deserves to feel beautiful.

Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself. ~Og Mandino
Relate with others, but relate with yourself also. Love others, but love yourself also. Go out! - the world is beautiful, adventurous; it is a challenge, it enriches. Go out fearlessly - there is nothing to lose, there is everything to gain. ~Osho
Be on the lookout for symptoms of Inner Peace. The hearts of a great many have already been exposed to Inner Peace, and it is possible that people everywhere could come down with it in epidemic proportions. This could pose a serious threat to what has, up to now, been a fairly stable condition of conflict in the world.
Some signs and symptoms of inner peace:
A tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than on fears based on past experiences. An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment. A loss of interest in judging other people. A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others. A loss of interest in conflict. A loss of the ability to worry (this is a very serious symptom). Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation. Contented feelings of connectedness with others and nature. An increasing tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen. An increased susceptibility to the love extended by others, as well as the uncontrollable urge to extend it.
<< WARNING ! >> If you have some or all of the above symptoms - please be advised that your condition of Inner Peace may be so far advanced as to not be curable. If you are exposed to anyone exhibiting any of these symptoms, remain exposed only at your own risk.
How many times do we say something that we immediately realized was not the right thing to say? How many times do we look back on an event and think, if only I had.... How many times do we do something that we wish hadn't done?
You can't change what has been said. You can't change a past event. You can't change what has been done.
Do you call it regret, sorrow, repentance? Do you think about what might have been? Do you relive an event the way it should have been?
Forget about regret, and focus. Focus on today, not on the past. Focus on what you can do, not what you didn't do.
The only thing to regret is living in the past The only thing to feel sorrow for is not living each day to the fullest. The only thing to do to repent is to sincerely say, I'm sorry.
Don't live your life regretting yesterday. Live your life so tomorrow you won't regret today. By Catherine Pulsifer
Wishing You a Blessed Sunday and Prosperous New Week!! Namaste ~Sally~
If there were ever a time to dare, to make a difference, to embark on something worth doing, it is NOW. Not for any grand cause, necessarily, but for something that tugs at your heart, something that's your aspiration, something that's your dream. You owe it to yourself to make your days here count. Have fun. Dig deep. Stretch. Dream big. ~ Macintosh
The courage of life is often a less dramatic spectacle than the courage of a final moment, but it is no less than a magnificent mixture of triumph and tragedy. People do what they must - in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures - and that is the basis of all human morality. ~ John F. Kennedy
It's the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting......Before a dream is realized, the Soul of the World tests everything that was learned along the way. It does this not because it is evil, but so that we can, in addition to realizing our dreams master the lessons we have learned as we have moved toward that dream. That's the point at which most people give up.... [At this point] Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of search is a second's encounter with God and with eternity. ~Paulo Coelho
May You have a Blissful weekend filled with Love Light & Laughter!
Every time we rely on someone or something outside of us to provide us with love, success or happiness, we hand our power over. As soon as they don’t provide it- we are defeated. Ironically, when we decide to be love, success and happiness, we easily attract the people, events and objects that supplement this state.
Needing is a state of the ego – that tries to convince us that we are empty and we need something to feel love, success and happiness. Our true self requires nothing to feel complete. From a state of being complete we create more to complete us.
You have always been deciding the truth of your life. It is how you decide to feel about it. There is no need to try to work out what something means. You decide what it means!~~~~by Melanie Tonia Evans
Wishing you a Blessed week filled with Love Joy & Success! Namaste -Sally
"A house becomes a home when you can write, 'I love you' on the furniture."
I can't tell you how many countless hours that I have spent CLEANING! I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure things were just perfect -"in case someone came over". Then I realized one day that no one came over; they were all out living life and having fun!
Now, when people visit, I find no need to explain the "condition" of my home. They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing while I was away living life and having fun. If you haven't figured this out yet, please heed this advice.
Life is short. Enjoy it!
Dust if you must, > but wouldn't it be better to paint a picture or write a letter, bake a cake or plant a seed, ponder the difference between want and need?
Dust if you must, but there's not much time, with rivers to swim and mountains to climb, music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.
Dust if you must, but the world's out there with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come around again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind, old age will come and it's not kind. And when you go - and go you must - you, yourself will make more dust!
-by Rose Milligan of Lancaster England
It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived.
"Do you want to meet the love of your life? -Look in the mirror."
"It's not your job to like me - it's mine."
"Placing the blame or judgment on someone else leaves you powerless to change your experience. Taking responsibility for your beliefs and judgments gives you the power to change them”
"The world is nothing but my perception of it. I see only through myself. I hear only through the filter of my story."
"You move totally away from reality when you believe that there is a legitimate reason to suffer."
"The voice within is what I'm married to. All marriage is a metaphor for that marriage. My lover is the place inside me where an honest yes and no come from. That's my true partner. It's always there. And to tell you yes when my integrity says no is to divorce that partner.”
