ARCHIGRAM is a duo composed of Julien & Nicolas, two parisian natives who discovered
Detroit techno in the early 90's... However, their own tastes weren't always the same:
while Nicolas learned playing the guitar by listening to his Rockn'roll heroes,
Julien toured in parisian clubs as a DJ. After they met, they started producing music,
developing a dark & rock house music style which is quite unique, where angry guitars
are mixed with cold keyboards, but with a clubby feeling.
Their started on Guy-Manuel's (of Daft Punk) CRYDAMOURE label with a 12"
released in 2001, "Mad Joe"/"In Flight".
The 1st track is hypnotic and captivating whereas the second one is more funky
in its "Raw Mix" version. One year later, "Carnaval" is released and we already feel that
their sound is darker. This feeling is confirmed by the very dark "Doggystyle" While their
12" had a pretty good success in the UK and beyond.
ARCHIGRAM came back on KITSUNE with "Padre". Opening new points of view
to house music. "Padre" has got this obstinating harpsichord, which could be
from a party at the time of Louis XIV!! After official remixes for Madonna and Ladytron,
they started working with Antipop from Telepopmusic to release NIN VS Archigram,
and are about to throw their new track 'Someone' featuring Asia Argento,
with remixes from Scratch Massive, Alexander Robotnick, Tomboy and Antipop. Rox On !
