*ARIZONA* is the ka-tet of
four close friends who like to drink mezcal and sling songs forth.
The band currently wanders in Asheville, North Carolina but still calls New
York City home. The music sounds like sweetly sleeping faeries nestled in
the dewy grass of a magical land while dark, sharp, drooling creatures lurk
nearby.
Arizona is a masterless wanderer, currently unsigned by either a record
label or booking agent.
Three collections of original recordings have been humbly submitted for your
consumption: The Sun and The Room (2005), Welcome Back Dear Children (2006)
and Fameseeker and The Mono (2007). Listen, and you can dwell for a while
within the collective fever dream of four people.
Arizona's artist is Deems, the best
kept secret of New York City's visual art scene. This mad Russian approaches
Arizona art making by listening to the albums and
drawing what
he hears.
Record producer Danny Kadar (My Morning Jacket, Iggy Pop, Avett Brothers) has become a
dear friend, male muse, and creative co-conspirator. Eric Stephenson joins
Arizona at select shows, shredding on the cello with the skill of a Sith
Lord. He can melt strings straight off, becoming your new God.
Listening to Arizona's richly imaginative music will allow you to hear
colors and taste thoughts, to hold moonlight in your hand, and to better
know your own heart. And they're working on a new record!!! (should be done in May).
Music from Arizona is available from iTunes, insound, and finer independent record stores in New York City (Other Music), Atlanta (Wuxtry, Wax n' Facts), and Asheville, NC (Harvest Records, Voltage Records).
