Armen Ra is an Armenian artist and performer born in Tehran Iran. Raised by a concert pianist mother, and aunt a renowned opera singer and Ikebana master, it was no surprise that Armen flourished, not only as one of New York's leading aesthetes, but also as a self-taught master of the theremin . By combining both the visual and aural aspects of his craft, Armen Ra has developed an art form that is truly his own and is something quite amazing to behold.......................

Armen has also worked as a make up artist and jewelry designer with some of the industry's top names, such as Patricia Field, Todd Oldham, David LaChapelle,Roxanne Lowitt,Kembra Pfahler and The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black, Diamanda Gallas(helped w/ translations and costuming), and Antony Hagerty to name a few...............................
Sitting with painter Vali Myers at the Chelsea Hotel, grooving with Grace Jones in the DJ booth at Limelight,gogo dancing on the bar at the legendary Pyramid club, or hosting parties at the Limelight,Tunnel. Red Zone and The World. Performing in plays with Ethel Eikenberg, Wendy Wild and Gerrard Little. Suzanne Bartch and Michael Alig recognized his draw and always hired Armen to attend their parties...............................
Modeling for photographers was a natural occurrence through the years, whether it was David LaChapelle, Roxanne Lowitt or countless others, you will find his image in books films and galleries throughout the world.................................
Who else would Madonna Pay to lay on a chaise and be fed grapes as decor for the release of her book "SEX" and again at the 1999 MTV VMA's?....Armen exists and inspires in his unique and elegant way.
