"Produced by Frank Black over twelve days last December, new album Art Brut vs. Satan is the record Brut-o-philes have been waiting for since debut single ‘Formed A Band’ illuminated the musical universe back in 2004.
Tuneful, truculent and more on the button than University Challenge’s Gail Trimble, it’s the sound of Art Brut at their most confident and confrontational."
Biog by Adie Nunn of Drowned in Sound
They're an eccentric, motley bunch who have more in common with Half Man Half Biscuit and Pulp than they do with their oft-compared influences The Fall. Vocalist Eddie Argos (an ex-goth obsessed with Jonathan Richman and Vincent Van Gogh) had previously been in a band, The Art Goblins, in his hometown of Bournemouth. Their stage show would see him playing a vacuum cleaner and escaping from a sack. They sounded not unlike cult Glaswegians The Yummy Fur and had songs such as I Wanna Be Johnny Dean and Disco. Another project was The Welsh Elephant, who penned the should-be-classic Fuck The MSP (which contains the catchy refrain Nicky Wire can suck my cock!).

Now break the 4th wall and jump behind the camera for the Making Of... It's like you were really there... Kind of.
The one band in the world I could rely on to let me hear one of their hit choooooons at a click of a mouse on Myspace has entered the world of the 30 second sample......
Epic fuckin Fail and sort yerselfs out you cunts.
With love and kisses from someone who has sold a lot of records and gig tickets for you...
Great show last night in Philly! Eddie demands attention, the band demands energy! Thanks for having something important to say and thanks for making us smile!
I'd love to photograph the band. Can we plan to meet when you guys are in Philly on Thursday, November 12th? We could shoot before your set.
Below are a few images I've done of Leonard Cohen, The Shackeltons and Mark Redding of The Shackeltons
. The shoot would only take like 20 or 30 minutes and I'll fully edit and present the images to you guys by mail or upload at my website. www.jeremywolfe.net as a gift from me to you for doing what you're doing.
I hope I didn't give you the Kiss of Death! Enjoyed your show, and the shenanigans at P.S. lounge. Hope you had a chance to check out the 6 legged cow with the 2 assholes in Oakley Kansas, and the Worlds largest prairie dog!
I find it odd that U2 is getting all the attention for playing at the 20th anniversary of the wall coming down in Germany. For me, it would be far more interesting (and appropriate) if Einstürzende Neubauten played. They could cover a Scorpions song. Someone get me Hasselhoff on the phone!
