Artist X writes original rock music with an emphasis on spiritual and philosophical themes and releases his music anonymously in an effort to keep the focus where it should be - on the music!
Drawing from a wide variety influences, Artist X writes songs that have a spiritual and philosophical bent to them. Some of the writers Artist X's music has been influenced and informed by include: Eckhart Tolle, Ram Dass, Alan Watts, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer and many others.
Musically, Artist X draws from a rich variety of influences including Pink Floyd, Phish, Nick Drake, Sujfan Stevens, Joseph Arthur, The Beatles, Belle and Sebastian, Wilco, Elliot Smith, Sufjan Stevens, Ryan Adams, Iron and Wine and much more.
Artist X's debut EP, Light, was released on January 23rd, 2007. This seven song CD contains the fan favorites "All Things Subside" and "Light" as well as five other original Artist X tracks.
Artist X is currently putting the finishing touches on his second CD, Wave, which will be released in the Summer of 2008. Stay tuned for new developments including show dates and information on Artist X's upcoming CD release.
