Art of Chaos makes music to dream to. .... The Art of Chaos sound is "alternative" in the truest sense of the word. Vocalist Brian Torres describes the sound best. "It's anthemic alt rock meets lyrical confessional pop. There are a lot of electronic textures, and the sound is often very lush. I want to bring atmospheric ambience to that melodic space. It's a fusion of ethereal elements with mainstream rock." .... Recent recordings capture the detail of his words. On "Just Like You," electronic harmonies cascade into organic rhythms as vocalist Brian Torres carries an epic hook. His voice is simultaneously vulnerable and vibrant, conveying emotion in each and every note. Meanwhile during "Dreams," Torresí voice takes center stage in the midst of the melody. It's the right mix of electro and rock. Art of Chaos is an art form all its own. .... Art of Chaos formed in Los Angeles in 2005. That same year, Torres and his band mates released their first EP Lucid, and they quickly began to garner a Southern California fan base. After two years of playing locally, they released their follow-up Crimson and Catharsis. That same year, they entered an MTV2 Battle of the Bands and conquered all challengers. As winners, Art of Chaos performed at the San Bernardino stop of the Projekt Revolution tour, and were so well received that Linkin Park personally invited them to open up seven more dates on the second stage. Art of Chaos slayed that summer alongside Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, H.I.M. and Taking Back Sunday, evolving their live show and winning fans in every city. The band shared the stage with some of the best and brightest acts in modern rock and they held their own, further carving their place in the genre. .... At the end of 2008, Art of Chaos shifted from its original format. Brian's bandmates began to pursue other endeavors, but he soldiered on under the Art of Chaos moniker. The fans have always fueled Art of Chaos. From showing up to every show to tattooing the band's name, this fan base is truly diehard. They're also going to be very satisfied with the new music. .... "The band is transforming into a solo entity," he says with a smile. "The motivation to keep everything going is our incredible and supportive following. I felt like there was a responsibility to myself and to the fans to keep moving forward. There was so much left unsaid and so much that needed to be done. The name still really applies. The journey is still the same. It's the same message, lyrical content and voice. People related to the lyrics and stories. I felt this obligation to myself and these people to at least attempt to keep going. I didn't want this journey with Art of Chaos to end, so I figured I'd do it on my own." .... Thankfully he did, and he's been creating some of his best music yet. The project evolved into Brian's creative space. Now, he's crafting his next Art of Chaos album with producer Lee Miles (Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Tickle Me Pink, Puddle of Mudd) and the results see Torres elevating to the next level as a songwriter and vocalist. .... Ultimately, the name describes it all. It's really about triumph from within for Torres. "Art of Chaos reflects the task of finding the strength to keep yourself going. There's still room to believe in positive childhood ideals. Make art from chaos. The music comes from taking dark, negative or harsh aspects of life and then finding the more beautiful and positive aspects within those things and chasing them. I want to give people that catharsis and help them feel like they're not alone in this overwhelming universe.
