hello myspace, facebook and all-other listeners and well-wishers!
it's about midnight leading us into february 26 2008, and i have an announcement to make. i am about to begin a series of fifty albums about fifty sydney shopping centres. this is an idea i've been throwing around for a while now.
as a generation we have done crazy amounts of growing up within these air conditioned miracle societies. we learn right from wrong, we learn not to throw tantrums, we hear our mom's car keys jingling and get excited. we go on first dates, we make out in movies, we break up in food courts. i don't want to say too much more because i think the songs will speak for themselves. this is going to be a lot of fun.
i also want to use this project to get to know people better and hopefully make some exciting new friends. if you have any stories about things that have happened/happened to you/you've heard about your local shopping centre, i'd love you to get in touch: artrush@gmail.com.
the first in this series, "macquarie centre", is completed, and will be released for you all to hear as soon as rapidshare uploads it in the next few minutes. i'm looking forward to your feedback on this new record.
i am currently working on "chatswood westfield" with some very talented guys who go by the name Ninjas on Ice. they are like steely dan merged with silverchair. like the sound of playing with a pet bear. very exciting.
i have also recorded songs for "warringah mall", "castle towers", "top ryde", "westfield burwood", and "westfield hornsby". others in the works are "rhodes", "westfield parramatta", "broadway", "midway", "forestway", "carlingford court", "chatswood chase", "roselands" etc. each album will have its own style/sound, reflecting the mood and the culture of the area. or whatever sound i feel like screwing around with.

hey art! it's max here, i met you at la campana. Soo looking forward to thursday man! should be great fun. i was wondering if i'd be able to get my hands on hard copies of some or all of your stuff? I tried to download it but im pretty hopeless with computers and sharing sites and all that. so if you had any cds lying around, would you be able to bring them along? that would be super if you could. but if you don't have any don't worry too much, i'll persevere and make the download thing work.
