The human race has drawn its final breath. Rapid developments
in technology allow us to destroy each other and our planet at an
exponential rate. In the very near future we will have caused irreversible
damage to everything we depend on for survival. This bleak and horrific
end is an unending source of inspiration for us. Ascension's sole
purpose as a group is to remove the blindfold placed over the eyes of the
masses by an oppressive society and to create art as more than just
something for leisure but also a tool of awareness.
Established
in late 2005, Ascension was founded by guitarist Caleb Bingham. In
September of 2006 the band began pre-production on their debut album, "Until
the End: A Soundtrack for Generation Armageddon." Since then, Ascension
has gained audiences worldwide with the release of their first single
"The Left Hand Path".
"When I formed Ascension," says Caleb,
"I set out to combine the elements of exteme music that I love and fuse
them into something unique and original that will provide a vehicle for
the message conveyed in Ascension's lyrics: Humanity is comitting
suicide."
For those that have already witnessed Ascension live or
heard previews of upcoming tracks, it is very clear that this is only the
begninning.
