Although Ashes Are Nutritious has a sound of
their own, the band is influenced by groups such as:The Mars Volta, At the Drive-In, Pink Floyd, System of a Down, Glassjaw,
Radiohead, Circa Survive, Sigur Ros, Sparta, Refused, and Tool. Much like these successful bands, Ashes Are Nutritious have taken music
to another level.
"4 out of 5 stars" -Pulse Weekly review of Frustration+-
“Cool and unusual song, with a powerful performance by all involved and a distinctive vocal. ….Tons of drama in the vocal performance. Robert Plant meets early Jim Morrison! Great job on this original work.”
-Taxi A&R-
“Musically, their songs paint varied soundscapes, ambient one minute and frantic the next. Their demo produced by Biohazard’s Billy Graziadei and Danny Schuler, is three songs that display more musical versatility than other bands show in their entire careers….Ashes Are Nutritious harness the true nature of creativity and translate it into stimulating and engaging rock.”
-JJ Koczan and Patrick Slevin, The Aquarian Weekly-
“The standout live performance this year was by a Sayreville prog-metal band called ashes.are.nutritious, whose charismatic lead singer had the sinewy intensity of the young Iggy Stooge.”
-Jim Testa, Jersey Beat (2005 Asbury Music Awards)-
Congratulations on your award for Top Heavy Rock Band. It was a pleasure to present this to you. Good luck with whatever projects you work on in the future!
Paul, I want you to repeat this addressing john, craig and billy: d-train says you guys are a bunch of bitches. the most important ingredient in "making it" is the right line-up. period.
That really sucks, you're one of the best local bands I've ever seen, I was hoping to see you guys go all the way. I really hope you come back sometime and make more music.
Well, hopefully, come what may, you'll remember the better times as opposed to the more bitter ones. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have heard you guys in live shows and made such good friends out of all of you whenever you came to chill and play in my town. Leave the music site up. If nothing else, as a testament to everyone's hard work, blood, sweat, tears and UNRELENTING TALENT! No band is immortal, but it's brainchildren of tunes live forever. Don't let those babies die!
this has to be a joke or a publicity stunt iti cant be true guys you come too far and given up so much to bring amazing music and truthfully ashes will never come to an end as long as i have their cd in my cd player dont give up guys. please fight this one through
you can't just end it now... you guys are fuckin awesome! i just picked you guys up from a sticker i saw, looked you guys up and loved the sounds instantly!
Man, that sucks. You guys are great, and I had a blast all TWO times I saw you play, heh! Oh well. Best wishes for the future, and maybe there will be a day when we can hear you guys play again!
I'm really sorry guys. I wish there was something I could do, something more I could have done... It's the world's loss, it really is. You guys were an inspiration to me and so many others, and your collective demise will never undo that fact. You turned out one fucking good album which I listen to all the time, and that's more than a thousand bands can say. And the energy you put into every performance, at least the few I was priveleged enough to witness, is something I take with me everywhere I go.
As for the industry, well, fuck them. My own little taste of the business side of music left me with such a bitter taste in my mouth that I had to leave it. "Making it" isn't what it's cracked up to be anyway...
There are no mistakes in this universe, everything that happens was meant to be.
Something even greater will rise from the Ashes...
Thanks for the add and for supporting Casey and solutions to the problem of drunk driving. Please call a friend, or call a cab. There is too much to lose.
