Founded in 1999 Asmodeus X quickly ignited the electro underground in the urban-technocracy of Houston, Texas. Synthesizing the electronic with the esoteric, Asmodeus X began producing high-energy, EBM and Esoteric Darkwave music. They were soon playing shows regularly throughout Texas, and receiving much notoriety via regional press, including the Critics Choice Vote for Best Industrial/Noise Act of 2000 by the Houston Press Music Awards. The "Asmodeian sound" is an eclectic one. From their neo-classical and minimalist beginnings with the instrumental "Cult of the Nassarene E.P.", to Fritz Lang-inspired symphonics apparent on the early "Nova Futura" singles, they have traversed styles while always maintaining an essential quality, that is immediately recognizable,darkly compelling, hypnotic, inspiring and self-reflexive.
