Atomic drop (AD) is the combined creative force of James Anthony (aka Liquid Djems, Liquid Records Co - Owner/Founder), Ken Barrett and special guests Joe Markendale and Daniel Thomas. Together they sonically sculpt deep, rolling and filthy Tech House/Electro that seamlessly blends driving Tech Funk/Breaks with a fully tropical flava!! Fusing all the best elements of dance genres and culture. Coming from the sound and scene of the UKs capitol and South East, ADs' sound is now evolving into a fusion of contemporary electronic dance music for 21st century party people…. accessible to dance floors the world over.
Playing at some of the best events, festivals and productions the world over, AD Started the year in true Atomic style playing at Universo Paralello NYE Festival in Brazil, arguably the best new years party in the world and proudly headlined the Main Stage and Arcadia Stage this summer at the UK’s number 1 dance event – The Glade Festival and the world famous Glastonbury Festival, to name a few !!
Working closely with Inside Us All (Voted 2009 Number 01 VJ's Worldwide – DJ Mag - Public Vote) Atomic Drop are creating a fully live Audio Visual performance and show that had its launch at Matter (02 Arena – London) in May alongside DJ Yoda – and is being fully developed for a 2010 world tour.
AD have shared the stage with artists such as Underworld, Booka Shade, Utah Saints, Faithless, Finlay Quaye, Adam Freeland, Japanese Popstars, Hybrid, The Rogue Element, Far Too Loud, Elite Force, General Midi, Myles Dyson, Tim Healy, Tom Real, ILS and Perfect Stranger to name a few !!
Studio wise AD are busy working on some seriously big tunes for 2009 releases, tracks are in progress with vocalists Natalie Appleton (All Saints), Cheshire Cat (vocalist from legendary pioneers Leftfield) and Lindy Layton (Beats International, Dub Pistols). Collaborations are also underway with producers Neurodriver, Gaudi, Tom Real, Dick Trevor, Mood Deluxe, Slackbaba and Markomen. !
Along with these collaborations they are also doing their own productions for long awaited single and compilation releases this year and are currently working on their debut album. Releases coming out this year on Liquid Records, Archangel Breaks, Pharcyde Records, Broken Robot Records.
So with a heavy arsenal of new, fresh and unique music AD are already confirmed this year for UK, European and International festivals and gigs including Japan, US, Brazil and Australia. So its looking like a busy year for this up and coming dance floor phenomenon!!
