Attab Haddad is an oud player born in the UK to Iraqi parents. He holds degrees in Business Management and Sound Engineering as well as a Master's degree with Distinction in Music Performance specializing in Middle Eastern music performance. He studied the oud with Ahmed Mukhtar in London, and with Nihad El-Sayed and the renowned virtuoso Naseer Shamma at the Arab Oud House in Cairo. Attab has collaborated with countless artists in many genres as co-composer, producer, musician and session player and featured as a guest on various albums. He is founder of the Attab Haddad Quintet, who have just finished recording their debut album, and is a key member of the contemporary and Classical crossover group The Sabina Rakcheyeva Ensemble, as well as being a founding member of the Flamenco fusion band Alcazaba. His work has featured on BBC Radio 3, Radio Scotland and Resonance FM as well as on various Middle Eastern TV Channels and he has performed in the UK, Europe, USA, Middle East and India to much acclaim. In April 2010 he was the subject of an hour long documentary on Arabic TV Channel AL-Fayhaa that highlighted his innovative new approach to the oud. Aside of his performances, Attab has worked within the spheres of dance, television and film, writing the scores for The Jean Abreau Dance Co's show Equus and co-writing Dialogo with violinist Max Baillie. Haddad's film and TV credits include work on Paul Gladstone-Reid's score for Isaac Julien's Phantom Creole, numerous collaborations with TV composer David Lowe, and work on James Newton Howard's score for Ed Zwick's film, Blood Diamond, starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Jennifer Connelly, as well as various documentaries and TV programmes. 10 of 414MoreBonjour,
West.

Amel Ibtissem: Danse orientale
Bravo. You play very well. How many years did you spend to get a so fast up and down with the pick. I was a guitar player and I can play fast with a guitar pick but not with a oud pick. Friendly, good luck and good life..
Greetings Attab!

I value your friendship. Thank you! I am pleased to hear your unique sounds and to learn about the oud. You have admirable skills. I really like that rhythm you start around 5:50 in Awakening. And also the festive mood at the end of Longaesque; it's lovely. You are welcome in my music world, dear friend. Please enjoy your stay and feel free to play my tracks anytime you visit my page. I wish you continuous inspiration and success!
