Maximilian Lopp has been active in producing music professionally since 1992. In his early years he was very active in producing HipHop with local crews in the Frankfurt region. As he found it increasingly difficult to identify with that kind of music, he re-focussed on trip-hop and clubmusic. Luckily for him the mid-nineties saw the awakening of Drum'n'bass in earnest. Maximilian developed his own approach to electronic music by primarily mixing elements of these three directions.
He kicked off the project Blackfish with his first release on the Inside 02 compilation (Poets Club Records). Successful,and busy years followed. Maximilian produced Blackfish's first longplayer Pole Navigation (2001), did Remixes for Compost records , Poets club records and Wohnton (2002). He produced exclusive tracks for companies outside the usual music business, e.g. for the synthesizer giant Waldorf, which released the Zeitlos-Compialtion as a give-away-CD for the Namm-Trade in Chicago 2002. With his partner in music Andi, the other person behind Blackfish, he worked on the second album:“Hidden Shore” was released in 2004 on maxelect records/Edel.

he started his muscial career in the late 90ies. busy with hiphop and drum´n bass tunes, he worked with different arstist from the rhein/main area and hung out at the local dirty rehersal rooms. his first break thru the surface had been happen in 1999 during the release of the underground breakdance combillation STEP TO DIZ - DIE HIP HOP FABRIK with the song dirty drums. From that point he had apperances on Hip Hop mixtapes and gigs with some live bands. During early 2000 he had his very first live experience on RADIO X Frankfurt/Germany. The same year, Max and Andi met and he joint the project blackfish a few month later.

Attic tree is yet another channel for the musical output of Maximilian and Andi of blackfish productions. Though still focussing on unique beats,they show another side of their musical diversity in this project. The sound of Attic Tree is best described as modern organic club music. The artists' passion for Jazz, House, Drum..n Bass and Worldmusic is reflected in every song.
They use real instruments this time as most of the songs were developed from jam sessions with international passionate musicians. Musicians like Roque Desouza ( Brazil ), Sumera Espienel ( Spain ), DJ Legend Double D ( Germany ), Gavin Randle (Great Britan) and many more. You can feel the energy of peaceful moments by listening to Maximilian's soulful piano play - his fingers on the keys will send shivers down your spine. And, for sure, those wicked basslines of Andi will move your hips just by themselves..
Voar in 2005 was the first release of Attic Tree on the compilation Brazilectro , a sampler with a worldwide reputation. Lots of well known compilations followed, such as the famous cafe solaire vol. 9 and 10, the frankfurt based cocoon club-compilation silk pearls and the asia lounge 4th floor. In April 2006 we released the first digital EP reminisce by Attic Tree by blackfish productions: we received worldwide airplay through big radio stations such as radioio beat and entered the beatport chill-out-charts at 1 for more than three weeks. The future is near to come: Attic Tree is will put out their first long-player soon!
