Originating from the San Francisco Bay Area, Gustavo made a name for himself with Team 2000, pioneers of ambient and dub rooms in the early 90’s rave scene... ..In the mid-90’s, Gustavo ventured into Jungle / Drum & Bass with his project Protolab – credited as the first Bay Area Jungle live PA... ..In 1998, after organizing some of the first all-electro underground parties in San Francisco, Gustavo teamed up with Jim Gourgoutis, and launched Cybrid. With releases on Belief Systems and Exact Science, Cybrid established themselves on the vanguard of the electro scene, defining what would become the sound of the San Francisco underground in the late 90’s... ..Quickly gaining residencies at long-running techno/electro club Impulse and at :Code at the DNA Lounge. Gustavo and JimG also became regular DJs at numerous other clubs and parties in San Francisco, including Minimal Mondays, Scatter, Drum Machine Museum, and more... ..Drawing from almost 20 years of experience as a producer, DJ, and performer, and an appreciation for the dance-floor classics, Audioelectronic is a musical experiment to get back to the roots of electronic dance music.
